      Hi all -

I took a bit of a hiatus from my blog as I rethought how I wanted to do my posts, but I think I'm figuring things out and I have a post about a little art quilt I just finished. It started as a piece that we painted at a sew day with my friends last summer. I finally pulled it out, added a bunch of quilting and finished the edges. If interested, you can read about it here.

      Thanks!!

2017 has been a really busy year for me so far. I just came home from Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival where I saw Dawn's beautiful prize winning quilt and had my own quilt in the show. It did not place, but I kinda think it didn't fit the show well and may do better in other shows. I finally managed to write a new blog post you may find interesting...here. I managed to catch up on several of your blog posts. Wonderful work! Isn't this fun? Hugs all around everyone. I'll try to not be quite such a seldom time visitor now that MAQF is over.

Thank you so much for all your kind comments regarding my chicken project. Reading through each one has helped me forge onward and I'm becoming excited with finishing the appliqué sooner than six months!

Betty Jo I loved your quilt. I'm sure it will place in other shows. It is amazing! And thank you for the interesting insight about turning 70 and changing the focus of your life a bit. I think it is good to take control of what we do and not just let the days slip by.

Terry, I am sorry for the loss of your dad. I hope the service is uplifting and you feel the love of family and friends. I loved your story about the grands and making pillows. Thanks again for another great idea for me to do with my grands! Your goodie package is awesome!

I just wrote a blog post about one of my current projects. I finished the piecing on a class project from a Caryl Bryer Fallert Gentry class from several years ago. If interested, you can read about it here. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out!

Wow! Nancy! Your piece is terrific. I bet you feel great having taken apart the offending pieces and redoing it. I get how frustrating it is, but it's such a great feeling when it's done. Your piece is so pretty. I can't wait to see how you quilt it!
