thread says its broken its not
I have to keep threading my machine it says the thread is broken, its not. Doing embroidery when the thread travels to and begins to embroider it tell me the thread is broken, I pull the thread from the needle but can feel the thread coming from the bobbin sometimes it catches the thread from the bobbin most of the time it doesn't and the it tells me that the top thread is broken, help!!!!!! TeresaTags: None

It can be that you are sewing too fast for the thread and it jumps away from the sensor and gives a false reading, try slowing down.
Also I would do the usual checks for lint, change thread, needle, rethread etc.,
I had the warning problem that drove me crazy for months and my machine went back for a couple of times. In the end I worked out it was caused by me forgetting on a number of occasions to put the thread guide up and the thread overtensions and snaps and I think this upsets the sensor somehow. Now I am so careful to never do that and it's been fine for months. I am madly looking for some wood to touch now.

I was having the same problem, always with the top thread. Finally when I was up at my dealers she gave me a little secret. Since my thread was not broken, and since it always seemed to happen when I increased from a snails pace she said just to go on my menu and make the thread sensor "sleep". It's done through the middle setting on the screen. I will of course have them check my overly sensitive sensor when I take the machine in but for now it works. I just keep good eye on my machine when embroidering so I don't ruin something. But have not had any problems since.......... Just a thought.

i realized that if i stitch few stitches and stop and then continue again it doesnt show the message thread is broken. but if i do long stitch, then it appears. so i do sew with short intervals, annoying but that is the only way that i can troubleshoot it until bernina has a solution.

Becky, I've had the same problem with my new 830
I use mainly cones from superior and we found that the thread doesn't unwind well when using the standard thread holder. I now have the large multi-thread adapter that sits on the back of the machine, with the higher telescopic thread guide...
I place my cones on that thread holder, pass the thread through the telescope guide, then through the Standard guide and no more problems.
The needle threader now also works with no problems, before it very rarely managed to thread the very fine threads - now the generally work fine.
I'll post a picture later to make my description less confusing.Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland
