I've just gone up and put them on the barthroom scales.

Bob is 1 stone 10 pound.

          '?' is 1 stone 5 pounds.

They are about the same in size, Bob just pips it because of the screen really.

I like the name Nina, but I already have a very good friend called Nina. http://www.thepastelartist.co.uk/ Mind you she is very talented in several directions... I'm seeing her on Thursday, I'll ask if she minds me nameing a machine after her. Some of the talent might transfer then. 8)

try an anagram. Mix up the letters and see what you come up with.

If I remember right, a stone is 14 pounds, right? Those are some heavy machines!!!
I wonder how much this one will cost. I'd love to have a Bernina but they're so expensive.

They are both 1 stone but one is 10 lbs and one 5 lbs?
I have not put my on the scale yet. But would like to know how much
                it weights.
Went to class yesterday and it was heavy putting in and taking out
                of the car.
                I have the 730.

Yes, a stone is 14 pounds, so Amo's 730 is 24 lbs and the new machine is 19 lbs. We like stones here in the UK, saying I weigh 9 stone sounds much better than 126 lbs (I had to work that out on the calculator   ) ... and yes, it's 9 stone, not 9 stones

So if it is over the 14 lbs of 1 stone then you use lbs. for the rest? I was surprised when she combined the two different measures. This is interesting. Thanks, Karen
