OK, here is the scoop. The Thursday dinner will be at Don Patron Bar and Grill, 500 Dallas. We will meet Nov 4th at 6:30. We will have beef and/or chicken fajitas and all the trimmings. The meal with tea, tax and gratuity will be $21.00 per person (please bring cash as I will need to pay one lump sum). Mixed drinks will be available at the bar. We will be seated on the patio or near the patio and it should be only the TQSer's in the room/patio. The reservation is under Myers.
Please let me know asap if you will be attending mailto:[email protected]
Instead of sending a seperate email to each person to confirm, I will just reply to your email. So if you do not hear back from me within 24 hours, please send a second email.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.
I will turn in a FINAL count on Oct 31st.
Dana (dlquilter) and I ate at Don's two years ago and the food was awesome!
I can't wait to see everyone! We will have a wonderful time!Happy Quilting,

WHOO-HOO!! Wanda this sounds wonderful! I can't wait to see everyone!
About taking photos at the quilt show....
Also be sure to ask for permission to take photos in any of the vendor booths. Some of them will allow photos, and some emphatically DO NOT! If there is no sign posted, please be courteous and ask before snapping!

Ok....excited is not even the word for it!!!!!!! I am so looking forward to Houston this year....even more than usual if that's possible. As always, my favorite thing I look forward to is seeing all my friends, old and new......and of course, buying thread....... Congratulations to all of you who have winning quilts in the show, and to you Dawn for winning the Super Shuttle challenge. And Wanda, thank you so much for all the hard work in finding a place to have our dinner. I know it's been no small task to find someone willing to accept such a large group during festival. I leave one week from Sunday, so I'm counting the days for sure.

Hi Everyone--Sounds like there's lots of excitment about the trip. I'm beginning to plan what stuff to pack in those bags.
FYI - just in case anyone's interested...I'll be signing books at The Craftsman's Touch - Books #1210-1311 on Thursday, noon to 1. (I'll post a little reminder on the member's blog) I'm hoping then to scoot on over to meet you all at the TQS booth.
I'm coming in for the Tuesday Winner's Circle Celebration and I'll be there through Friday afternoon.
I'ts a big adventure and we're going to have lots of fun (and sore feet)!

My sister and I are flying in from Scotland on Thursday 28th October. We need Niagra Spray Starch for Caryl Bryer Fallert’s morning class on Thursday 4th November. Can’t get it in the UK. Can anyone tell me where I can get this, preferably Downtown as we have no transport or near enough so we can use the Metro?
Thanks
Maureen

Maureen, a Google check shows that Niagra starch is carried by Walgreen's drug stores, and there is a Walgreen's about 1-1/2 mile from the convention center, and several others downtown. I'm not very familiar with Houston, but I'm sure that you could get a cab if that is too far for you to walk, and I would call the store to make sure they have it before going. I also noticed that Niagra comes in the original formula and a heavy version, but they are aerosols, which you probably wouldn't be able to take home on the plane. I see that there is now a non-aerosol Niagra starch. You might want to bring a large plastic bag to try to take that home with you in case you can find that version. Good luck!

Think layers! Some of the classrooms can be like meat lockers and when the crowds are packed it can get really warm.
