Pam please join in, the rules are on the first post of this thread - but we break them

It started a couple of years ago when 10 of us took part in a challenge that culminated in a quilt show in Scotland early this year. We had so much fun talking about anything and everything except the quilts that we wanted to keep going hence these challenges. The original quilts and a bit more about the original challenge is on the group page where we put the pics of all the quilts.

Yeh we have a challenge. What's the deadline Nancy?
How about 3 months from now -- end of March. That would allow us to only have to come up with 4 challenges each year, since that seems to be the hardest part of the challenge.

So, to be clear, we'll do an "Inspired by Libby" challenge where we make something using a Libby technique and/or inspired by one of her quilts. The deadline is March 31, so the reveal is April 1 (April Fool's Day -- perfect for me!!).

And here are the Christmas presents I made. First, infinity scarves for the sisters and nieces:

I had my favorite model model one:

Then a bag for one niece:

There's a purple flower on the other side. And a bag for another niece:

A set of bags for one sister. She's the one who just got married and they got engaged on the Eiffel Tower, so the fabric is Paris-themed with Eiffel Towers on it:

A table topper for the other sister:

        And another for her daughter:

Now let's see if this will post with so many pictures. That would be another advantage of the new Web site!

Wow! Nancy, they are all wonderful!!! I need to borrow some of your energy, please!
I think your idea of 3 months per challenge is just about right. Don't know if I'll be able to participate in this first one because of other quilting deadlines, but I'll try. I also like not having size requirements. That way we can plan these for whatever else we have going on in our lives, too.

Thanks you Wendy, that seems fun. So, it's an 'Inspired by Libby' and the deadline is March 31st have I got that right?

                      Yep!

Great selection of presents you've achieved there Nancy, and love your model.

Final ( I hope) present I've made for this Christmas, a pair of muggies for a friend who collects snails.

if you want your muggie to be flat and solid quilt it to death like this! not what I would normally do.

Ok, pictures, handbags, tape measures, models of snails etc - I think it started with the picture of a snail in the 17th century book 'A School House for the Needle' and is now her logo.

Nancy and Rosemary, great gifts! Nancy, re the bag with the big blue flower, did you make the flower pattern up? I can just see a summertime bag like that for my daughter when she heads to the beach with her family in April! Oh, and I'm in for the Libby challenge.

Beautiful work Rosemary and Nancy. Rosemary, I love the snails - who ever would have thunk! Nancy that photo of Lance is so funny with his ears bent back, our dog does that when you try to take a photo of her too. Are the scarves made of silk or cotton? They are really neat I would like to make one is there a pattern? The fabrics are gorgeous. So much beautiful creative stuff made for hopefully grateful people this Christmas. Thanks for the photos.

Love the idea of a mini 'inspired by Libby' challenge and March sounds about doable.
