We would never say gub here - gob is the word for mouth. Your lugs are your ears.

Glad you clarified, Rita! When I looked up the definition online "gub" was a derogatory term used by Australian Aborigines for white people, so I really didn't get Rosemary's reference! But now I know where Willie Wonka came up with the name "gobstopper"....
