Lotti, I hope your leg pain diminishes rapidly on your medication. Consider your mug rug a get well gift too!

Rita, is your middle initial "B" ...for blarney?! What a great story!

I always get the finest tip, because that's how I use them. However, if you were going to do a lot of fill work, you would want the broadest tips.

Yes I use the finest tips too. And even if you never actually draw a picture on fabric they are great just as BJ says for touching up details on a quilt.

So Rita, I thought I had my mug rug for you all planned out, but after that visit with the Leprechaun of yours I may have to change my idea...

because a dear dear quilting sister remembered that i´m planning a blue quilt for myself - one nice day - when i´ve finished collecting all the blue fabrics i can find on this planet:

sorry - unlike what my ipad made of them, the colors are really beautifully blue - and the largest piece was died by rita herself - what treasures

              and...

another back that anyone would be happy to show upfront, any time

and now ..... my darling, lucky irish fish:

and this mug rug even has specially marked places for the cup and the cake...

              isn´t our dear rita wonderful?
i´m so chuffed - two fabulous mug rugs in two days - happy happy happy dance

Sorry, couldn't resist. My children would say, aw Mom, you're such a teacher.

I would like to know you like the DVD on treadles. I need it bad, but only if it's easy to understand and shows how to work a shuttle bobbin.

So glad you like it Lotti. If I had known you were going to show the back I would have made it neater! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it for a long time to come.

Susan, I found these two links on youtube which both show how to wind a shuttle bobbin. Hope they help.

Lotti, take care of your knee when you do the happy dancing

I have spent the last two days dyeing fabrics. A friend asked me to make place mats for her mother, so I dyed for that. Besides my stash is getting short of my own hand dyed fabrics and they are what I prefer to work with now.
