Whisperers,
Plodding along on my project...more or less. The question is, can I get what is in my brain translated into fabric? So I am trying out different things.
I had made reservations for the whole Loch Lomond quilt show at the same hotel that Wendy had. I think it was a Premier Inn. Unfortunately that same week is another inspection. This is the Air Force IG's (Inspector General) office coming this time. It's a military inspection instead of the civilian accreditation survey we had in November. And it is an inspection of the whole base, not just the hospital. The focus is more on military aspects of what we do.
All this means that I will not be able to come to the quilt show for the whole time now. (Where is the little crying face when you need it.) I will find my reservation and share the details. Since I booked early and paid in advance I got good rates. It would be great if someone could use the room. I am pretty sure it was a nonrefundable type thing.
I am still going to try to come up on the Friday night and then leave on Sunday. Fortunately Glasgow is right there to fly into. I'll rent a car and should be able to see most things in the two days. (Hopefully) Then I can still bring home all the quilts that will get mailed back to the USA. But no guarantees if I'll make it.
So bummed.

Hi Lorna -
Sorry that you won't be able to make the show, or at least part of it! What a bummer!! Wish I could take your room, but I'll be attending my niece's college graduation in Kansas instead. But I will be with everyone in spirit (and maybe in Skype, as someone suggested). I'm sure your quilt will be beautiful and I can't wait to see it!!

Yes it was non refundable for the good rate. What a shame you are getting a shortened trip.
The show is weds to Saturday so you'll just get Saturday for seeing it. I booked until Sunday because I knew I wouldn't want to drive home late after the show. We'll still have a good get together Friday when you arrive, I do hope you'll make it.
Oh that quilt I do feel for you, having an idea is quite different to carrying it out, I'm sure it'll turn out great
Sorry Nancy cross posted but the hotel has wifi so we'll be able to be in touch

Oh Lorna, that sure is a bummer! I wonder has Rosemary booked her room yet? I haven't booked mine because I am still not sure how long I can go for. :? I might only be able to make it for the Friday and Saturday too.
I hope your inspiration can meet up with your abilities for this quilt. If it's any consolation, I know exactly how you are feeling right now. Good luck with it.

Lorna, sorry to hear you might not get up to the show.
A real pity as you were so looking forward to it. Try your best so we can all meet up at some point. As Wendy mentioned the show is on from Wednesday to Saturday as the venues want their churches back for services on the Sunday. You can always decide before hand when the exhibitions are up which ones you want to see the most and on the Saturday you could see quite a few in the day if you didn’t stay too long in a venue. If you let me know which venues I can always plan out the best route to go.
