I would love to have good pictures of all of the quilts to make into a remembrance. Perhaps print each on fabric and make a quilt out of them.

Great ideas everybody. It would be nice to have a good quality photo of each of the quilts for posterity. I wonder how many quilts in total will have been made based (loosely) on your daughter's photo Maureen. It must be very strange for her to see what everybody has done with her photo.

So here is my version of Celtic Solstice so far. I think I will just add a plain green border to it and call it done. I used all those little bonus triangles that we cut off week 2 units to make the little green and yellow pinwheels in the border. I also added a blue and a white sashing strip on either side of the pinwheels before adding the final border. It now fits our bed quite well but I want more to hang down the sides. I have really enjoyed making this quilt and love the way it has turned out.

I can't get enough distance in my sewing room to get a photo of the whole quilt - but trust me the rest of the quilt looks just the same.

So beautiful! The pinwheel border adds a lot to the overall finish. The colors are terrific, Rita!

I am going to ask (beg) Kim if she will take photographs of all our quilts either before (as she will have them at her house) or at the show. Trouble is that being in churches, church halls does not lend itself to getting good photos. Kim is an extremely busy person, with working full time, involved in the camera club committee, out and about taking photos and is also involved in the Children's Panel. Hopefully she loves her poor old mum enough to do it

Rita, I love your Celtic Solstice quilt, it is terrific. I might put that in the to do list - but who am I kidding    . I think I would like to do the BOM first.

Rita, great Celtic Solstice. Love the colours, and the way the design turns into circles!

That quilt is beautiful , Rita...Love your border! It seems more finished somehow.
I'm still collecting yellows and oranges to have enough variety. Those are not the most
used in my quilts ! And Now...on to the BOM !

Maureen, if Kim can do it it would be great, but if she is too busy then don't worry about it. I am sure one of us who is attending can get good enough photos to pass along.

Thanks for the all the nice comments about my Celtice Solstice quilt. Wendy, they are triangle in a square blocks and they are not difficult to do at all - particularly if you have the tri-recs rulers or the Quilt in a Day ruler. I have both and fortunately the Quilt in a Day ruler was the perfect size for squaring the units up to 3 1/2". It is amazing to think that every unit in the quilt (apart from my mini pinwheels in the border) was only 3 1/2"!

I agree. I am slowly getting mine together. My 4 year old great-niece is helping me. She lays out the blocks on pizza block trays like Alex uses. It's like a puzzle for her. Then I have 4-5 blocks ready to sew together. I'll take pictures next time she helps. Her big sister sat in my sewing room sewing with me for 2 hours one afternoon last week.

This was the result of her work. She is 8 years old. It's her first try. I think she is a natural. The back looks just as good. No knots, no loops just neat stitching with the ends woven in. She wants to learn other stitches to embellish her work. She just sat there and kept at it for 2 hours. I told her she could take a break but she wanted to finish it.

Aw Lois, what a cutie-pie! And such great work too. She is definitely a natural.
