Thanks Jane.... My screen name is only too true.. it can't help that I spend a lot of 'quilting time' on the Golf course too...... We are forecast heavy rain tomorrow... that may keep me off the course and into my sewing room... Just sewing up my first batch to see how they look and how accurate I am.

I am a Charter member of TQS but this is the first time I have joined in with a project...

          I am having fun..

Teresa, if you are just beginning might I respectfully suggest that you do a practice run to get your seam right. Just about everybody it seems has had trouble with the 1/4" because when you press the seams open it makes the strips wider than 1/2". I had to have three attempts before I got it right. Also, I don't know if you have been reading the comments on this post from the beginning but everybody washed and starched their fabrics before cutting (well except Rosemary who is going for the shag-pile effect  ). There is other useful information earlier on in the post about how to go about it and how to label and post etc. Good luck and hopefully the rain will keep you at it. Rita.

              Teresa,

Glad to find another golfer in the group. I've always said I have 2 of the most expensive hobbies--golf and quilting. At least I don't collect precious stones or designer clothes   I'm also a charter member but forget sometimes to check-in. Don't like to spend too much time on the computer anyway--afraid of brain rot :P

Terrie, where is the Chat Room? I can't find anything that says that on it.

                  Comment

When TQS first started there was a chat room but the idea never really took off, so its possible that it may have been discontinued. Perhaps someone might want to contact the powers that be via 'help' on the purple toolbar and find out.

It's been a few months, at least since I tried. However, there really was one - just never found a fellow chatter-er. Probably for the best, less time on-line means more time quilting.

The Chat rooms (there were lots) used to be under the Forum heading, I've looked around a few times, but the only time I found anyone there was when Lorchan set up a pre-arranged time.

I've frequently wished that when I spot a name I know, is also on line, there was a button that could be clicked saying 'Want to Chat?', as it is, if I see a friend is online at the same time as me, I just give a smile & say hi-yah, under my breath.

First batch were a 'teeny bit' under so I think I will go with the suggestion of making one outside strip 1.25" so I can cut down.... Already washed fabrics and I use Best Press as I go... Happy with how they look tho'
