Hi Terrie, It took me a little time to decide what pattern to use. There are so many great HST patterns. I choose ocean waves because of the fact these triangles came from all over the world, across oceans, mountains, from far and wide. It just seemed like the right pattern for this special quilt. It is taking me awhile to make this quilt because I like to stop and look at the names on all the triangles. I am saving the paper in a box and plan to organize them. They will be sorted by country and state. Then they will be placed on acid-free paper and be laminated. I am going to make a book with all the people who had a part in this quilt. I got the idea from reading about S.O.S. (Save our Stories). This quilt is so special, because so many quilters are sharing their love of the art with others. I am going to use all of mine too!!! I did the Batik and the Sisterhood Triangle Exchange. I ended up with 1,000 of them. I also made a couple hundred more to have enough for the design I was going for. It is so fun to have this forum and see what others are doing with their's. It is just so wonderful to share and inspire each other!!!! Glad to hear you have your machine almost fixed. I kept my old one for the times I needed to send mine in to get it serviced. The dealer I purchased my Pfaff from does a real good job of getting them repaired and serviced in a timely manner. Most of the time I am only without it for a week or two. My thread cutter went bad and it had to be replaced. He said it must have been because I was using it too much. LOL!!!! I only wish that were true. Once you decide on your design please post it. We would all love to see it. We are the new age global cyber quilt quild. This is truly the Quilt Life!!!! Take care and have fun with your HSTs!!!!

Hi Patti, Wonderful!!! The only thing I am running into is I have to be very careful of the direction my HST go. It gets a little mind boggling at times. It is going to be so fun to see all of these when they are completed. I think this is the most fun I have had in making a quilt. Since I am new on the quilting front I would appreciate some ideas for the quilting. I was thinking maybe feathered hearts in the open white spaces. I like what Margo did with using the TQS star. Please send any ideas you have to help me start thinking on how to quilt it. I would just love it!!!!

Terry, your HST blocks are wonderful!!! It is fun to see the progress as we work on them. So many different ways to use HSTs. It is just amazing!!!! I just had an idea. I think in my S.O.S (Save our Stories) book I would like to add each person's finished quilt. When you get yours done would you send me a picture. I would like pictures of all the quilts if everyone would send me a picture!!!!! It is amazing how one little HST has such powerful impact and has brought so many quilters together from all over the world. This is truly the Power of One.Originally posted by quilting00From the Batiks-R-Us exchange, I finished eight tree blocks:

Oh Carol, I love your idea of a journal with all the triangle papers and pictures of the quilts made. I had scanned all the little papers in the computer but I'm still too sentimental to throw out those little triangles! I know what you mean about keeping those little buggers in the quilt oriented right. I was putting my 4 quadrants together last week and I had to take out Edyta's triangle twice! I enlarged my triangle portion of Edyta's medallion quilt to 920 HSTs and I'm making a sampler with my strips from that exchange putting in the trees in the corners so I made about 500 more myself. I'm at a standstill until 2 fabric orders (Hancocks got inundated with their free shipping offer and I've been waiting 6 weeks for Mary Jo's to get restocked with 1895 fabric - everyone's out of the fabric I want) come in on those tops but am just about to start my ocean waves backing hopefully next weekend.

I LOVE the trees - I think I'm gonna make one like that, even if I have to make some more of my own HSTs! I also thought that maybe a wall hanging with four trees representing the four seasons might be nice, but what to do for winter? :?:

I have wonderful news. I sent an email to John Anderson at TQS and he got me in touch with Lilo. They are going to help me spread the word. They think the SoTTT Exchange S.O.S. (Save our Story) is a fabulous idea. I am so very happy. Lilo and I talked last night for about an hour. I will be making some finishing touches on a wonderful announcement that will appear in the Daily Blog and in the TQS Newsletter on SoTTT Exchange S.O.S. Book and DVD set. Watch for the announcement in the next few weeks. A Smilebox is a great idea too. This is going to be a very fun project to work on. I want to get a good amount of pictures before the Houston IQF show (Nov. 1) and have a sample/prototype ready for TQS to review. But the real book will not be out for at least a year. I am thinking to having the prototype deadline for those that have their quilt done, sent to me by Sept. 1. Those quilts will be in the sample/prototype book. Then for the final deadline for the "real" final book/DVD will be Jan.1, 2012. Keep watching TQS for all the info.
Thank you so much for wanting to participate in the SoTTT Exchange S.O.S project. I hope I get almost everyone that participated in the Exchange to also participate in the book. The more, the better, the book/DVD will be!!!
There are some fantastic quilts being made. This is a remarkable story that TQS, Edyta, Debbie, and Clara started. Please help me "Save Our Story" and share it with others.
