My little bag of Golden Tickets only had signatures on two of the HSTs, Alex and Ricky. I don't have any idea who any of the other ones were from, except they were special, So,in my quilt top, I wasn't able to put those GTs in special spots - I think of it as unity - equality - we're all in this together and everyone is special. However, I do remember a few, for example I got one from Lotti in Switzerland, I maybe because it travelled so far, I can recognise hers. And a few from the UK too.

Today was a special birthday for me because it began with coffee at Starbuck's and meeting a fabulous new SoTTT sister, JoJo Hall from Troutdale, OR (who makes and sells delicious smelling bar soap in addition to designing beautiful digitized embroidery, etc.), and the ever popular Terry Knott of Boring, OR! I can tell you that Terry does absolutely beautiful work, especially teeny tiny piping on her 2011 BOM that will make your eyes pop out of your head!
We had fun sharing projects, ideas, laughs, and SoTTT stories! And all of this happened because of our meeting each other through The Quilt Show! How 8) is that! This time I remembered to bring my camera!
And...a big bear hug to Scoopie for the cute ecard! Red roses from my DH, a beautiful handmade keepsake box from my step-daughter, and lunch at Red Lobster all add up to a HAPPY DANCE BIRTHDAY!

It looks like there was lots of fun going on in Oregon today. My DD and her DH just moved to Portland and love it so far. My DH and I will be going there in Oct when we take their dogs to them. I'm really looking forward to the visit as I've never been to Oregon.
I just finished pressing all my lovely triangles and have most of them trimmed and papers removed. What an amazing array of fabrics! I do have quite a few exact duplicates so if anyone else is just getting started with theirs and wants to trade a few, let me know. If not, they'll all find a place in my quilt as soon as I decide what design I'm using - lol

Shirley, Terry, and JoJo, what an awesome picture of the three of you! How very special to have been able to get together and share your common love of quilting! Shirley, that will be a birthday you will never forget! And, I am so-o-o glad you DID remember the camera this time. There were 5 Montana gals in the SOTTT exchange, and we are scattered all over the state. Probably no chance of a get together here. Sigh! But, last year I spotted a "Stars for a New Day" BOM in our guild's quilt show, and found there was a TQS member in my own guild. We had a chance to work together and get to know each other better, through the guild's show. Unfortunately, she is not able to be "active" on the TQS site. But, her quilt was beautiful!

Peg, depending on where and when you visit Oregon in Oct., we are having a first MQX-West machine quilting show at the Oregon Convention Center (in Portland) that is easy to get to by public transportation (MAX) and would be wonderful for you to check out. The show and vendor mall open Oct. 13-15, 2011. Their website is http://www.mqxshow.com There seems to be a lot of excitement brewing about this show and the class schedule looks great! :wink:Originally posted by pegjoIt looks like there was lots of fun going on in Oregon today.
