Maureen,
I also still have all mine on piles with papers attached (not ironed open yet). Have been busy with other things. I will continue to keep mine in tact, so when all the international sisters receive their packages I will gladly share. Hope you get them soon, because the excitement is only totally realized when that package actually arrives.

Hi
Just wanted to let you all know that I received my HST's yesterday. Love them all. I am enjoying reading all the names and places theycome from. Thank you so much Debbie and Clara and don't want to forget all the helpers. You did an amazing job. This is going to be one great cherished quilt that will probably hang on the wall. I love the note attached to my package and the plastic bag with Alex, Ricky, Margo and Edyta's HST's. I'm still not sure of the pattern I want to use. Any idea?

Hello to all the SoTTTs out there. Let me introduce myself. My name is Kari Grece. I am a stay at home mom of an adorable, not quite 2 year old. I have recently moved to St. Charles, IL and have several empty rooms in my new house. Since we have extra space and time, I thought this task and I might be a good fit. I have volunteered to head up the exchange of duplicate and the redistribution of extra half square triangles.
I have created a new topic: SoTTTs Clearing House - Duplicate and Wayward Exchange
http://www.thequiltshow.com/bb3/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=4617&start=0
I have reserved the first couple posts for important updates. *wish I could have used the Wayward and Adoptable topic already created but I didn't want people to have to go to page 10 for the details).
Please let me know what you think of my idea - nothing is set in stone and I can definitely use suggestions.
Thanks!
Kari

Dearest, Maureen, and all other international SoTTT sisters...I'll swap with any of you if need be, even if I have to cut more HST's than I already have as extras in my stash :!:    We Americans get enthusiastic about fun things, but we're also very loyal to our international quilting sisters as well...we'll take care of you if you give us the heads up :!:   :wink:Originally posted by scottishquilterI know you are still in the height of excitement and joy but please remember your international sisters that have not received their HST’s yet when you are thinking about swaps and exchanges and maybe keep some back for them.Originally posted by serin10Originally posted by Margo
To be a clearing house for anyone wishing to return extras or exchange duplicates or to catch up with what they sent in???? :
Just wanted to add that I am sure that whatever we receive we will be truly grateful and be very happy with what we get. It has all been a once in a lifetime adventure that I wouldn't have missed for all the world. I feel that a lot of friendships have been made over the months and hopefully we will all continue to be quilting sisters. Debbie and Clara you are the best, thank you

A big THANK YOU to everyone who offered to share their extra HST's with me. I did not want or expect anyone to give up their HST's that they worked so hard for, even though I appreciate their offer. Thankfully they found them and all is taken care of. I will be more than happy to share my duplicates with anyone that needs them.

That was well said....I would never have come up with all the variety that I have received. Duplicates are ok with me. I am just soo happy to have this many HTS and I can use them in one project or several...Thanks ladies. I think you did a wonderful job. I was great for a first try at this. In anything we do we learn from it how to do better. That is life.Originally posted by florenceSorry Margo, not me! There are times I'd be stepping up for something like this but just now isn't it.
But I do want to address some of the concerns about duplicates etc. I know I got some, but I wasn't counting as specifically as some of the folks here. I did pull them aside, in case my chosen design can be worked without any dupes, like a charm quilt, who knows? And I haven't worked any wonderful maths as we've seen here before, but here's what I do know:
1) Not all of the 615 folks who signed up actually ended up participating.
2) Not all of the folks who did participate sent in the full 615 HST's which would have covered all participants.
3) Some of the participants used multiple fabrics & combinations to make their HST's, and likely (a guess) some used only 2 fabrics.
4) Not all of the participants paid attention to light & dark, I got several that are medium/medium!
So, using some logic, unless everyone sent in the same amounts, there's no way for all participants to receive one HST from every other participant. I'm sure our marvelous organizers have a list going somewhere, to give to the next person who attempts such a thing, but I'm guessing one item would be to have everyone agree to make the same amount. Maybe that's too open-ended for some, but if that's the case set a limit on participants.
I see that they took on a HUGE challenge, and I think we absolutely can still call it a success. I ended up with more variety than I ever would have come up with on my own (and I really collect scraps!) so I'm happy.
The glass is half-full!!
Piece,

My exact sentiments! I didn't care to count the HST's I got in my precious package! Just happy    to have them from all of you out there :!:  BUT...I did want one from Ron of Chicago and our Texan guy quilter    which I am getting soon. :lol:Originally posted by charlottegaileThat was well said....I would never have come up with all the variety that I have received. When I went to my mailbox, there was the special key to open the large box underneath!
I took a deep breath, held it....too keep myself calm...opened the door...then felt like I had been hit in the gut. The package was for my husband.
With no hope of getting my HST's, I walked home.
Maybe Monday.
