This is soooo cool, being able to ID our HST's!

Hi Marion, I'm glad you got an HST from my Mom. I showed her your picture and told her your name was the same as hers.Originally posted by sewbee2Kathy tell your mother I have 2 of hers, the name Marion caught my eye as it is my first name also and spelled the same way.
I'll keep an eye out for a post from you when you get your quilt finished.
I can't start on mine yet since I'm waaay behind on the BOM plus have another small quilt waiting to be quilted. It might be a while before I have anything to share about my HST quilt

Hi Maryjo - I agree it's been great to learn about what happens in other countriesOriginally posted by JosewOriginally posted by bennoI'm jealous! We have no mail deliveries here until Wednesday due to the Easter and ANZAC day holidays so no hope of my HSTs arriving before then. But it's been lovely reading everyone's news....and I guess I can work on one of my many UFO's while I'm waiting
Robyn, Cheltenham, South Australia
What are ANZAC holidays about? I've never heard of them in the States? Love all the global knowledge we are gainign being sisters.
Maryjo
. ANZAC stands for Australian & New Zealand Army Corps and Anzac Day (April 25) marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. The ANZAC force landed at Gallipoli (Turkey) on 25 April 1915 - we now remember all those who died and served in all military operations for their countries during wars on Anzac Day - it's always a public holiday here. There was a movie made, in the early 1980's I think, called "Gallipoli" - well worth seeing if you can find it on DVD....very moving. As Easter is so late this year we are having an extra long weekend - ANZAC day is on Easter Monday, so they have made the public holiday on the 26th so we don't go back to work until Wednesday - YAY
!!!

Okay! I finally got a photo loaded for my Profile, yeah!
Funniest thing, I have been stewing about what pic, & how to get onto my computer so I can load it; casually mention to DH what I was stewing about and he says, "What about that photo I took of you . . .?" :| Next thing I know I have an email from him with that photo attached and, lo and behold, there I am in living color. Am I not living with the greatest guy on earth?!
I am off now to iron a few more of my hst's before I really have to go to bed so I can be up in time for the Sunrise (Son-rise?
) service in the morning. WAIT - it IS morning already!
ops: HAPPY EASTER!!! everyone.

Goddess of all information.... thanks, that is what I guessed, but then is could be Austra, Switzerland... or several other countries in that area.Originally posted by MargoOriginally posted by FluffBallQuiltsHi,
Is there someone out there by the name Annedore Neumann from MG-Wickrath? If so is your city Wickrath? What country?
Thanks for your reply,

The master spreadsheet says that Annedore Neumann is from Germany!

I am taking a break from sorting and am looking at my HSTs. Actually my Mom came to visit and she has some too. So, we have spent some family time together or you could say mother-daughter time together and have been pressing, admiring and yes sorting. Oh well, the sorting crept in again. She is getting all the prints and me, I like the batiks. It's a fair swap I think.
Good news is I got all the missing HSTs I needed to finish the last of the internationals. All of them (except 1-waiting on some info) will be out-of-this-country on Monday. Woo Hoo!!!! Clara will be completely done. Yippee!!!!
Happy Easter everyone. Wait, I need to give you a little Easter story. My younger boy came into the kitchen. I asked him to give Grandma an Easter kiss. He kissed her on the cheek and then hopped up and down like a rabbit. Too cute. All his idea.

Hi Shirley,
Our BBQs are changing daily now... we had a pizza one last week, and that was pretty cool. But originally we all had BBQ's with sausages and steak. Generally a salad and bread rolls as well, oh and lots would say Cold Beer is a must... As the weather is generally kind to us, BBQs are the most favoured way for friends to share a meal in the great outdoors. I have only been to three so far over this Easter weekend: 1 roast, 1 fish and 1 standard sausages and steak
!
Cricket is played with a bat and a ball. On the beach, it is normally played with a tennis ball. The bat is made from wood generally. There is a bowler, who throws the ball to the batter. When he hits the ball, the batter runs between the two wickets until the ball is returned to the wickets. So it is most like baseball for you, although the bat is very different, and there is only 2 wickets, so the batter runs backwards and forwards.. That is the 20 second version of cricket, and there is probably someone with much more information than me about how the game works. It is also a big English past time, the Aussie bit is the beach!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain cricket and your BBQs :!:  It sounds like they're a lot of fun! My Chicago mid-western sense of humor got in the way of serious BBQ thinking because all I could envision were "crock-style" burgers or mini croc-style hot dogs :!:    I think the movie "Crocodile Dundee" ruined my mind.    I'll tell ya this much...I'm gonna have fun designing my "Aussie Sue and Aussie Ricky"!  :mrgreen:Originally posted by prccathHi Shirley,
