Shirley,
Two comments on EQ - 1. DO go to QU and enroll in the EQ7 classes; I finally did that with my EQ6 and have learned SOOOO.....much. 2. I also have an EQ Bee running in my local guild and it is great fun. Our leader/guru goes to the EQ website each month and downloads lessons and projects that take us all just a little further than we were before and, of course, the cameraderie of all the quilters is great, too. (Almost as good as we have thru our forum  Jackie

Great idea about the 'like' button. Why don't you send that to TQS as a suggestion? I suggested that they to add a Favorites Button on shows, lessons, etc. so we could save them. I used to have to write down where something was when I knew I wanted to find it again and I thought the 'Favorites' button could be helpful. They listened to the suggestion, added a cute red heart with a plus sign to many features, and they did it in less than a week! How's that for caring about the TQS community?[/quote]
 Debbie, help me understand what the meaning is for the cute red heart with the plus sign and how you use it to find things. Lissette's idea about adding a LIKE button is a good one. My experience on TQS and this Forum are totally new for me so I'm still navigating around (much more easily), but I want to understand what some of the symbols mean too. Or just tell me where I can find this out on TQS. Thanx much.

Thank you, Jackie, for the great EQ tips. This has been a wonderful day for learning about many resources available for making quiltng even more enjoyable than it already is :!:  Hugs to all of you for your generous comments and time to share them:!:  LIFE IS GOOD :!:Originally posted by printmakerShirley,

Shirley, if you haven't checked it out yet, there are some tips for navigating the TQS forum here: http://forum/forum-questions-and-sug...-the-tqs-forum
As for the hearts....they are to mark your "favorites" and you will find them on things like specific Daily Blogs, or Member Blogs, or Classroom Lessons or Projects or Quilt Gallery. Just look for the bright read heart near the topic title with a little plus sign. If you click on it, the link will be stored in your FAVORITES folder. You access that by clicking on the bright red heart at the upper right of your screen header on most TQS pages (but not the forum pages), right under your screen name. That heart will have a number in it showing how many favorite links you've saved! Try it! You'll like it!

I GOT THEM!!! I came home from running errands and saw "THE STICKER" on a Priority Mail envelope and scared the dogs with my shout :? Fortunately, I have talked about them sooo much, my DH had guessed what was in the package and expected some response when I saw it and didn't drop anything when I grabbed him to "happy dance" I started out by sorting by area of the country, then I had to count each section, AND look at every name and city. Next is opening, pressing and trimming (and taking pix w/the paper labels) but won't get to that until tomorrow. It is already time to get ready for church for the Maundy Thursday service and "stripping" the church - guess who is on the decorating committee?
More tomorrow when I can spread them out on my design wall (I hope, if I get all of the above done quickly enough). The few pieces I kept back for myself have been looking very lonely up there for the last three weeks

Isn't it amazing that humans drown when exposed to too much water but ants simple migrate to dry space! We have the same problem in FL when we get too much rain! Butwe alos have fire ants here and they aren't pleasant! I'll keep praying for rain for Texas both to put out fires and help the crops grow!
Sirley you have a nice profile picture!

Shirley, I am also new to understanding and using all the bells and whistles at this TQS site, especially on the Forum. I just added you to my favorites with the hope that we might meet in the future. My daughter used to live in Happy Valley and a few years ago while visiting her I think I was in Gresham on one of your Shop Hop days. Daughter now lives in Milwaukie so I will be there again! Thanks to this exchange, my first, I feel like I have a whole new circle of wonderful friends
Glad you put up a picture, it's nice to put a face with all the comments.
OK, I hit the Submit button but this message is still here, told you I was new at this. Hitting submit again, twice is better than none at all

Debbie, I know what you can do now that all those triangles have "moved out" of your house... how about making a quilt?? I bet you haven't spent nearly enough time at the sewing machine in the last few months!! I'd be going thru withdrawals!! The work that you and Clara have put into this is amazing!!
I've used EQ5 & EQ6, I'm sure also barely using all of its capabilities but I definitely enjoy it, no idea about photoshop... but Margo I love the visual I got when I read about the "nearly nekkid paper-dolls"!!

I received my HST's today. Thank you Debbie, Clara, Margo and all of the rest of you who participated! I've already counted them and put them away for a rest after their long journey. I did glance at the names as I was counting and recognized many of them, and unless I miscounted I was only 1 short and the Golden Tickets more than made up for that. I've been rethinking the project I am going to make with these. I have an old quilt from my grandmother that I would like to remake. It is very worn and looks like the ones we used to use to wrap furniture when moving or take on a camping trip to the mountains. This is the only quilt I received from the older generation of quilters in my family or anyone for that matter. And that's because it was so worn nobody else wanted it. I'm the one who makes the quilts to give to everybody. It won't be an exact reproduction as the blocks will be smaller and it will be more scrappy. And the blank squares will be great for quilting cities, states, and countries on if my longarm quilter is able to do that for me. If not I may have to learn how to use my embroidery machine. There are 48 blocks so I will have just enough HST's plus a few extra to put in the corners of a border that I will add to make it larger.

Sisters! What a wealth of information you've been today. I never heard of the Bamboo thing until today and I went to the web site. I love it and gotta have it. I'm also going to check out the web site for PS. Sooo much to learn, so little time. And then there's quilting. I'll never go back to work at this rate. Like I said before, there's so much fun to be had on this forum. Love you all!
