Just a note to say my HST's arrived today! So exciting -- and so many! It's going to be fun to come up with a project using them. I'll be looking forward to what everyone else does.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU CLARA AND DEBBIE, and all the many assistants, who made this exchange possible. What a nice thing to do for us all!!

Happy Dancing here in Portland, I received my HST's today. I've just spent the last 3 hours looking through them. Shirley in Gresham, i didn't get one of yours but i did get 2 from Boring OR. Howdy neighbors, I live in NE Portland.
Can't decide what to make with them until i press them out and see what they think i should make from them. Yes, i do talk to my fabric and squares like i talk to my plants and dogs. My DH looks at me oddly sometimes, but oh well...
Thank you, thank you to Debbie and Clara and all the Bee ladies and Gentleman for all the sorting and mailing back. What a monumental task.
Thank you Ricky and Alex, Margo and Edyta for the special HST's. They are very special to me.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU !!!Originally posted by RiverOwlNote to fellow SoTTT’s;
For those of us who are still being patient; it is enjoyable to live vicariously through your postings! But gosh, wanting to send back a Half-Sq. Triangle is like rejecting one of our Sister’s. Please if you need an extra one or two HST’s colors to complete a design that you can’t live without, send me a private e-mail & I will be happy to assist you if I am able (which I probably would) with sending you an extra HST’s or two should you may need it but please don’t leave out any of our Sister’s that you were sent! If you can’t use it, send it my way-I’ll put her in my quilt! Clara, Debbie and all the other quilters who are still working diligently to get us our HST’s. I for one just can’t fathom what yawl have been going through to make this exchange happen; it boggles my mind. Blessings to you & take a baby aspirin (81mg) every day while you are doing this unless your Dr advises against it for some reason (blood thinner) if you are sitting a lot or please walk around at least every ten minutes every hour ladies. Don’t forget to drink lots of water-that will help you get up and walking around also. I know you all have knocked your self out but I want you all to be well! Take care, blessings to the Sorting Queen & her Court-Jesters & all. We all need to include them in our nightly prayers- Barbara from Bluffton, SC

Oh Theresa, so do I :roll: all the time :roll: I talk to everything and everyone that matters to me :lol: :lol: if they're here or not :roll: and I will certainly be speaking to those lovely HSTs tooo :lol: :lol: :lol: and will ask them what they want me to turn them into - all i know is that it will be a quilt/blanket of some type - something just right to cuddle up in - and get a huge multi-sister-hug whenever one of those is needed for whatever reason :wink:Originally posted by twells540... My wonderful hubby came in the sewing room today (Sat.) and asked me why I was getting a envelope with my name in the to and from spaces!! I knew immediately that my little sweet babies had arrived!!! I was so excited that he said,"I didn't think you'd get this excited over fabric." No clue!!!!!!!!! I worked on these beauties all day and now have to think about how to use them and how to preserve all the names and places they have traveled. What wonderful colors! I love bright colors and got some great HST's that fit perfectly with my taste! I am very happy to get all different colors so that I will learn how to use them even if they aren't my favorites. What I am going to enjoy most? Working out of my comfort zone!! It has been said many , many times. but thank you so very much for all your work and for giving me a chance to "spread my wings". Debbie, although you haven't mentioned it, did you you have a designated (self nominated) 'tea/coffee' lady for the sort day, who took responsibility for making sure that there was drinks etc available, if there was could you pass on a big hug and thank you to her for doing such a vital job, even though she might not have been sorting.
Also to be thanked are all the DH's who helped in their own ways and for generously accepting that you have other things on your minds besides them :lol: and their feeding requirementsLotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Well my triangles didn't come, but my face is sore from smiling at all the e-mails when one of you received yours!!! This is so much fun. I'm looking forward to receiving my package, but can't imagine that it will be any more fun that our SoTTTs Sisters sharing their excitement. Thanks for everyone who is sharing and more thanks, as always, to Debbie, Clara and every other person who helped sort, or feed or haul or all the other things that went into this project. Y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I've got to give a signature a shot sometime soon. Watching posts on how much trouble it was has me a little afraid to try it. But I love to see all of you ladies who have one.Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Nancy: First off --- thank you sooo much for the tissue holders! It was a great surprise for all the sorters!
Second --- If you print off Margo's directions and follow them - step by step - don't skip anything --- you won't have any problems with the signature!
Hope to see you in November!

Good morning, everyone. It was pouring down rain, cold and windy here yesterday until I checked the mail - my HSTs had arrived and my day brightened immediately!! I hope no bills came in the same post since I have no idea what happened to the rest of the mail :-) I spent the afternoon fondling each and every jewel and marvelling over the miles they have traveled. Thank you to everyone who participated and most especially to the wonderful sisters and brothers organizing and sorting this massive endeavor. I already have a block in mind and love the fact that this quilt will be scrappy AND international. Looking forward to starting work on it soon. I can't say it enough - thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hugs to everyone from SUNNY Washington, DC.

:lol: :lol: :lol: How nice it is to hear that Theresa of Portland, OR and Lotti of Barr, Switzerland talk to their fabrics as well as their dogs and plants :!: I do the same thing! :wink: I also think out loud when I'm working on a quilt design which helps me brainstorm better! 8) It's great to know I'm not nuts! -OR- that I'm in great company :!: 8) :lol:
Theresa, just send me your address and I'll be more than happy to send some HST's to you. I can't have a sister of the SoTTT living so close and not getting a few HST's from Gresham, OR! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Talking to your fabric is a perfectly normal thing to do 8) , but even more important is to listen to what it has to say, as well to find out if it agrees with your ideas of what to do with it. I especially talk to my fabric and patterns when I am dressmaking/tailoring, in particular to alterations - will they do what I need them to?Originally posted by sforster395:lol: :lol: :lol: How nice it is to hear that Theresa of Portland, OR and Lotti of Barr of Switzerland talk to their dogs and plants :!: I do the same thing :wink: I also think out loud when I'm working on a quilt design which helps me brainstorm better! 8) It's great to know I'm not nuts! -OR- that I'm in great company :!: 8) :lol:
