Rosemary - the sorting hats are fabulous. I know Debbie and Queen Clara looked stunning in them!!! I also send heartfelt thanks for all the work of everyone, for this experience - yes for getting us hooked on HSTs, but also for the excitement to see what everyone is doing in a day and sharing with this Forum group. I'm glad to be a part of it.

Originally posted by debkendallSorting Day was amazing. I'm so glad I got to be there in person yesterday and meet everyone. Thank you and big hugs to Clara and Debbie for taking on this huge task. Thank you to everyone that helped, even the non-quilters that were there. Big thanks to Debbie's Bee for all of their help and for arranging the location. Thank you to everyone that donated chocolates and funds to cover food and expenses. Rosemary, your Sorting Hats are remarkable. Thank you for giving Clara and Debbie such a nice gift for them to remember this monumental event. Thanks go to Debbie's and Clara's husbands and families for their help and support. Thank you to Edyta for getting us all hooked on HSTs so we could do this crazy exchange! Last but not least, HUGE thanks to Alex and Ricky and TQS. What a tremendous community we have because of you. I am so thankful to be a quilter. I have met such wonderful people over the years and made many friends because of quilting. I don't know of any other hobby that generates such fellowship and generosity. I hope I get to meet many of you from TQS in Houston this November.

Thanks for being there, Debbie, and for all your nice words. You know we're gonna keep in touch, don't ya??

Sarah, thank you so much for joining the 'fun' yesterday. I didn't get to visit with you as much as I'd have liked to, but hopefully we can make up for it some other time...maybe at Festival, if not before.Originally posted by sarah3What a great time we had yesterday at the famous "sorting" event. I'll just add, You had to laugh to keep from crying when looking at the mounds and mounds of triangles we made as we walked around the tables over and over. You will love your triangles when they arrive because they will bring you lots of joy from all over the world. How cool is that. Clara and Debbie, I do hope you survive and live to laugh about this hilarious event. Yes, it did take a good bit of prayer. Thanks to all the new friends I made yesterday. Sarah

I had a great time yesterday as well - agree with DebKendall that the hats were wonderful (sent Rosemary a note already) and Sarah that prayer was necessary and we had to laugh ---- especially when Debbie (I think) dumped a batch of triangles over my head as I was acting as the mixer.... Hope to see everyone again soon - and have some time to spend talking quilts instead of just triangles....

Yup...that was me, Lena. You were so into mixing them, that it was just too good an opportunity to pass up. I have a feeling I'll be seeing you around more now that we know who we are :wink: . Yay, so glad to hear about sorting day! What an unbelievable event it must have been. I'm offering a heartfelt thank you to all who participated and most especially Debbie and Clara. And the lovely husband who cut up the HST's! And Rosemary's sorting hats just put me over the edge into pure joy. The quilting world has probably never seen anything like this. I will wait patiently for my package to arrive, full of love and stories. Just to be part of this exchange has been a blessing to me.
Thank you all again!

Rosemary & Her overseas sisters;
Those Hats are amazing!! How many did you make? Could you put the pattern on line? Did yawl take photos of all of you together with your hats on? Hope so! Can’t wait to see some of the sorting photos! It doesn’t sound like sorting day is over though. I can’t imagine how many HST’s had to be taken home & am afraid to ask. I don’t know what we could do to help for those of us that are so far away; but I will put on a thinking cap on & try to think of something, if nothing else but to keep the sorting queens spirits up :lol: ! Take a nice hot bath, eat a good hot meal- I can’t believe most of yawl have “real” jobs too!! You must really need a break after this last weekend & I am sure all the SoTTT’s would surely understand! It must get frustrating when your work starts to interfere with your hobby :roll: !!
Ah, signatures , they are all so beautiful
8) -I’ve tried but I haven’t been able to get one to work yet

There is nothing new to say about all of you sorters. It has been said numerous times. But, I do want to add my thankyou to the rest of our sisters'. Debbie and Clara, you are as amazing as Rosemary's sorting hats. What a wonderful sisterhood (brothers too) that we have started. I have really enjoyed the experience of this exchange. And can't you just feel the love we all share. A prayer of thanks goes out for all of you for being sisters in spirit.
