My quilty sisters and brothers -
I don't know what I can add to all the other comments! Rosemary, the sorting hats made me grin from ear to ear. As my daughter would say, they made me happy in my heart! I too feel blessed to have been a participant in this monumental exchange. It is my first ever - I happened on it somewhat by accident, and I am so glad I did. I will happily wait patiently for my HSTs - I'm almost afraid to get them, as if the wonderful magic of this community of quilters will somehow disappear with their arrival(!) I hope not...
Clara and Debbie - so much thanks go your way from here in California - Thank you, thank you, and thank you again!

Hi everyone,
I just finshed reading all of these posts. THANK YOU all so much for all of your hard work. I am looking so forward to my wonderful packages whenever they arrive. Clara & Debbie and all of your helpers, thank you for being willing to undertake this incredible event. I want to agree with all the other sisters thank you comments. The pictures are great.
I loved the letter from Hogwarts and the Hats that arrived were terrific.
Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my quilty heart.

Clara,Originally posted by ClaraLawrenceand waiting...
When I saw your hat my first thoughts were 'Bother - she's stolen my thunder! ', because you have made a magnificent and elegant creation fit for a queen, with a beautifully subtle face teased into the folds of the fabric.
Where as mine are motley jesters, designed around the basis of the hsts to be loud, brash and frivolous (and completely scrappy). My only regret is that due to the constraints of my cone shape, there wasn't enough space(length) in the point to add a small pocket to take a miniature hip flask - for medicinal purposes only you understand
I'm glad to see the picture of Magnus in his new home (although his brim could really do with a good steam pressing - but then everyone feels a bit crumpled after a long journey and a hard days work)

Not to worry. This old hat was indeed a costume hat from Harry Potter collection. Knowing my son he will be prancing around and doing some type of magic of his own. (He loves costumes. We get our money's worth!) I didn't stitch a thing. I am honored and quite tickled with your goodie and knowing so many placed some handywork in it. Thanks a bunch. A very sweet gesture. Clara

Originally posted by NancyWGood evening ladies,
I am Nancy from North Carolina and I want to share a couple of photos of something I made during this exchange. We're all so excited about making and exchanging the HSTs, but during this time, I have a friend who has developed pancreatic cancer. I had some of the papers left that I bought from Edyta for our exchange project, so I made some more HSTs and made a prayer shawl for my friend. I used Edyta's pattern for the Tree of Life for the middle back of the shawl and her Friendship Baskets for the ends. The triangles in the baskets represent all of the friends and well wishes who are involved in my making of the prayer shawl. I don't really machine quilt or machine applique as a rule, but thought it best so we could get the present to our friend. I will make something wonderful from our exchange and share that later on, but wanted to show my exchange friends what has been going on even before the sort. Y'all have happy week.
Your thoughtful gift to your friend is so beautiful!
May she have peace & healing wrapped up in love.

Want something fun to do with TQS sisters & brothers while waiting for our treasured HST's & strips??!!
Anyone interested in a potholder swap? I participated in one last year & it was great fun.
The sky's the limit since you will decide all the issues...color/size/shape/theme/and so on with your swap partner.
I'll be the monitor...it's easy to join.
Just send me an e-mail at
mailto:[email protected]
before May 1, 2011.
After I receive all your e-mails, I will pair you up.
Once you have your swap partner's e-mail, you will communicate with each other to set up the
details of swapping with one another.
You will send the potholder directly to your swap partner...so no need for Guardian Goddess or Sorting Queen.
No one could fill their royal shoes (or Hats!) anyway, bless them!!!
***reminder...be sure to send an e-mail to the above address...

Though I was checking the forum days before the deadline, I was blown away by the news that sorting day was over. Guess I'm a bit dense, comes with old age. Those hats are tremendous, am tempted to fashion something similar for myself to wear to potlucks at my fitness center. I'm already known for my various hats, at least there! Edyta did start something for me and the papers for making HSTs made it easy. I muddled over doing this but as so many wonderful things have evolved with this exchange, it is the best one I've ever done. Thanks to all who made it possible; your fun loving spirit makes my day. I feel the best is yet to come from this huge group of SoTTTs.
Good news came yesterday, I'm a finalist in the top 100 Accuquilt Barn Block contest. I have a request, and it's probably not ethical to ask but here goes. I know TQS supported (and our cohosts are judging) this contest and since TQS members are so active and creative you are my competition. I don't have another sisterhood to ask to vote for me so please take a look and, hopefully, booster my ratings. My blocks are in the 4th row up from the bottom labeled Marion N. Thanks for your support. The URL that I can't get to be active!
