I got my HST's a couple of weeks ago and yesterday got my Ricky one in the mail. Ricky's was my favorite colors bluish purple! Perfect pick! Thanks so much Ritzy for all your and your helpers hard work. I've looked at all of them and just amazed at all the places they came from. I have a quilt on the design wall so havn't started playing with these yet. hmmm....I could put that flanned back up in the hallway for a second wall though. I will probably wait and see what I get with the SOTT's before I decide for sure what I am going to make. Hope all are having a great day. Sandi in FL

Pam, I started to do EXACTLY as you wrote and then stopped. . .you know why??? I know that once I start, I'll just keep looking and then it will be I'll iron one, or tear that paper. . .so what I'm trying to say. . .I know that I will have no will power!!! There I feel better already admitting my folly!

Terry, you may be low on will power, but you get alot more beautiful quilts made than I do, so you get major admiration from me for that.

No more will power here! I'm having fun! Here is how I will document my HSTs. Will I do this with the 600 I will receive for the big exchange? Only time will tell. Depends on how bored I get with whatever current project I am working on at that time!

Dawn, I like what you have done to document your HST's. How clever. I think I will do the same. I even like the pattern that is emerging from the layout.Originally posted by ScoopieNo more will power here! I'm having fun! Here is how I will document my HSTs. I really love the batiks I received, and I'd do it again...question is WHO is going to step up to the task, especially given the reports of h-e-a-v-y workload at the SOTTT's exchange. I think it was wisdom for Ritzy to set the deadline as short as it was and limit the number of HSTs. I'm game, but international, so not the best one to handle it ( whew!, what a good excuse!) Now, this is not to say that I am not THRILLED with the anticipation of all those HST coming from Texas. This all has been one of the best quilting experiences I've ever had these exchanges. I hope it changes TQS forever - maybe already has! Built a real community.

Crocus999, you are right that it's been a fabulous experience, and has certainly enlarged our community, but the real community started with the charter members. There have been members meeting at the Houston IQF for the last 3 years. The main change is that we are looking forward to a much larger group this year! WHOO-HOO!!Originally posted by crocus999I really love the batiks I received, and I'd do it again...question is WHO is going to step up to the task, especially given the reports of h-e-a-v-y workload at the SOTTT's exchange. I am so excited!!! I have finally been able to sort through all my HSTs from the 2 exchanges, and guess what!!! Of the ones which were signed with a name and location, I have 329 different individuals, 45 states and 8 countries represented!!!! WOW!!! Now, here's a challenge....I'd like to get representation from those 5 'missing' states: Arkansas, Hawaii, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Oklahoma. Were there any participants from those states? If so, may I send you a SASE and a HST so that I can receive a HST from you representing your state?
Thanks!

Thank you to all the lovely ladies in the Batiks exchange, the hst's arrive this morning and I was so excited to look at all the names and now to be able to put faces to the names from the forus. I was on my way to my patchwork day at Bernina and all the ladies had to watch as I sorted them out so I could keep a label from each one of you. One of my friends is driving to Townsville (next major town down the coast from Cairns) and she has taken the hst's with her so she has something to do in the car, i.e. taking the papers off. When she comes home next week and by then the other hst's should have arrived from the big exchange and we can start making the quilts, it looks like we will have enough for about 10-12 quilts with all the ones we have made here as well.
Thank you all very much, I know the recipients will appreciate them.
