Dissapointed. I Received my HST today. There were 136 triangles including 12 of my own, eleven in the same fabric. I was dissapointed as I was expecting one from each person who swapped. I am not sure what went wrong. Did anyone else have this problem.
The colours are beautiful and I can't wait to start a quilt with them. I have ordered some batike for the borders. Maree

Maree, here is a link to the page from March 22 where Ritzy explained that there were only 124 participants who actually sent in blocks and why you would probably get some of your own back: http://forum/friendship-triangle-exc...abric-exchange
I'm sorry you were disappointed, but hope you enjoy the ones that were exchanged.

I can hardly wait to look at my HSTs from the exchange. I'm forcing myself to finish up a couple projects before I start a new project. . . I can only tell you that it is so hard not too look!!!!! I have petted a couple of them and have ooed and awed over the four that I can see. I'm going to be delighted with whatever fabrics I get and I thank Ritzy from the bottom of my heart for taking the lead on this exchange.

My name is Elizabeth but I go by Betsy. My DH and I will be married 50 years in September. I have 3 children (2 girls, 1 boy) and 2 grandchildren, 1 of each. I worked in retail for many years then went to college and got a degree in computer science. I worked for 20 years in the IT section of a large insurance company. I retired in 2005 and immediately joined a quilt quild. Well, actually 2, and a group that makes quilts for the neo-natal units of two local hospitals. There are 11 in our group and we deliver about 30 quilts a month. I have been sewing since I was a teenager. I made clothes for myself and my kids. I like quilting so much better that making clothes.
I also couldn't find Ricky HST. I check on the soggy envelope in the trash and still couldn't find it. As I was reading the blogs I read Tbrown0307's about finding her name on the list of people who need to send a SASE to get her's so I checked and sure enought my name was there also so I'll be sending mine off tomorrow.

Yippee I received my package of HSTs in the mail today!
My husband tried to trick me and hide them but I could tell by the twinkle in his eye when I asked if they were in the mail that they had arrived. I haven't had time to look at them yet as I just got home from work but am excited to see everyone's name and fabrics. Thanks Ritzy for all your hard work to make this exchange happen.

Want something fun to do with TQS sisters & brothers while waiting for our treasured HST's & strips??!!
Anyone interested in a potholder swap? I participated in one last year & it was great fun.
The sky's the limit since you will decide all the issues...color/size/shape/theme/and so on with your swap partner.
I'll be the monitor...it's easy to join.
Just send me an e-mail at
mailto:[email protected]
before May 1, 2011.
After I receive all your e-mails, I will pair you up.
Once you have your swap partner's e-mail, you will communicate with each other to set up the
details of swapping with one another.
You will send the potholder directly to your swap partner...so no need for Guardian Goddess or Sorting Queen.
No one could fill their royal shoes (or Hats!) anyway, bless them!!!
***reminder...be sure to send an e-mail to the above address...
mailto:[email protected]

And, of course, it's all on the Forum under the topic: Potholder Swap

Well, now that some of the Canadians have received their HSTs, I can yell, I GOT MINE, TOO! I actually have had them for about a week, and have really been trying to ignore them for other things I should be working on, but today I succumbed! I layed them all out (unopened) and took pictures to document all of the names, and countries, etc. I cut two down that were 2 1/2" square rather than 2", but that works! And, I got one with two darks sewn to the light, so will unsew it and resew it, and add the extra dark to a light of my own and consider it a bonus HST!
And, I may take a picture of the one with no name and say, "Is this yours?" I would hate to not have that person not listed in the documenting of the HSTs!
Next , I will press them open, then cut them as previouslly noted earlier in the "What pattern are you planning for your HSTs" thread. I think it is on page two. Then PLAY with them!
Thank you, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Ritzy! You did a superior job! And, I also want to thank your helpers and DH. What a great group!

Nope! I have Alex's! This one is just blank, not even written in the seamline like one was. :?:Originally posted by jcpittsquiltsDawn....check to see if your "unknown" is from Alex...I didn't realize it was hers until I pressed it open...and SURPRISE!!!

I have an unknown as well--maybe they came from the same person. I layed them out last night and was amazed at the variety and beauty of the fabrics. Now to decide on a project.
Dawn -- we are in for snow and they say it is coming north from Colorado and up through Montana. Please feel free to stop it if you want!!!
