If you'd like to include HST's for Hanne, be sure you mark clearly what HST's are for her. If you've already mailed your HTS's and want Hanne to have one of yours too, you can put them in an envelope and send them to my P.O. Box. And don't forgot to add your city/state/country and your name (optional), so she'll know where they came from.
SoTTT's ROCK!!!
Debbieand that's something I would like to do. I plan on running through the "rules" page right before I send mine off.
Thanks!
Done!! It's in the 1st post.

It's not necessary. Some members have been including a little extra to help with unexpected expenses, but it's strictly up to you.

Here's one for a chuckle - I just spoke with my 33 y.o. son and was telling him all about the Sottt and the Batik exchange etc, and my excitement, enthusiasim etc showed so much he thinks I may have gone bonkers! He asked me what the 'rules' for joining this 'sisterhood', do we have a special handshake? oaths? sworn to secrecy and warned me that maybe it's a cult! LOL! I know he loves me and is looking out for Gramma now, I guess to check if I'm still okay to babysit the grandkids! What a hoot!! ( and he wasn't totally joking when he was asking me these questions... ) (And.then ....."WHAT EXACTLY are you going to DO with all those triangles, MoM?" Sounds like Dan Brown (author of The DaVinvi code might be wanting to investigate this sisterhood....) Unfortunately, my son probably has as wild an imagination as I do, it's just that it's now turned back on me!! Thought I'd share the laugh, especially since I am still waiting for my papers, so I guess he wonders if this is really all true! LOL+++ I DO hope they show up soon.

So glad Ricky and Alex are joining!!!
I read that Alex is going to sign her HST for each of us - on the fabric. YEA!
Now, I'm wondering....would she like us to sign ours to her? I'd be happy to, and tape or pin it to the outside of my ziploc.
Also, wouldn't it be NEAT if TQS had a challenge/contest for everyone to make something from their exchange HSTs? It would be wonderful to see what everyone makes.

Good morning, Everyone! Loved reading Crocus999's funny story. I get the same reaction from non-quilters too. I personally think only people who quilt can truly understand the marvelous connection that 615 strangers from 14 countries have by being a part of the "grand SOTTT exchange." I've even heard the remark, "Quilters are a sub-culture in the US." Yes, we are, and maybe we are a "cult" as well! By "cult" I mean a worldwide group of people grasping hands who are creative beyond belief, have giving hearts bigger than life itself, enthusiasm for making something beautiful with a message out of tiny pieces of fabric, have fabric stashes that could probably supply another planet the size of Earth, and who all are...well...just plain crazy about quiltmaking! Life is good!
Happy Quilting,

That is a thoughtful idea, Dwynette, but NO, please do not sign on the fabric for special ones for Alex and Ricky. Just put your name and city/state/country on the paper. If everyone signed a triangle, then it would start looking like a signature quilt and because the HSTs are so tiny, it will not look good.
Thanks,
Debbie
We also don't need to have to start sorting through the HST's to figure out which ones are meant for them along with the fact that people have already sent theirs in without special signing, so please it would be best not to.
Thanks...
Debbie

I also have a funny story. Proof hubby wasn't listening completely.
I'm filling the hubby in as this exchange was growing like crazy on a daily business in the beginning. Each morning and every evening had surprising numbers. Until the final morning I woke him up to ask him if he would like the final number? Yes. I told him 615. He then went into his fix-it mode. "They are going to have to do this" he explained. "Done that" I reply. "They are going to have to watch out for this" he insisted. "Doing that" I would reply again. This went on and on until he asked one last question. "Who is organizing this thing?" "Debbie and I are." Then he looked at me with surprise. I told him this is one of those "busted" moments. You clearly weren't listening to me all the time. All he could reply was... "so that's why you were on the computer so much, the last few days".
Thought you guys might like this. Clara

Re: putting name, town, state, country on each HST - I couldn't face writing all that on each HST paper. I printed labels (I had 1" x 2 5/8" ones). Each label had space for 4 repeats of the info and I cut them apart to stick on each HST. Easier to me!
I really don't understand why we need to press the HSTs after they are cut apart. Mine look just fine to me. Please advise.
