Thanks for posting pictures of the triangles. It helps us realize just how many triangles have been sent to TX. I cant wait to get them back and turn them into a quilt. Lately I have been in the sewing mood but spring is almost here. My husband is trying to figure out what seeds we need to start now as our snow is almost gone but we are back to colder temperatures so the river is down. We do get some flooding but having a house on the hill helps.
So now to wait by the mailbox for triangles!! I know I cant wait to see what I get as I know everyone else is anxious to get theirs back for sewing. Thanks for hosting the exchange.
Happy Sewing everyone!! Continue to post pictures so for us not in TX can continue to watch the exchange.

It is amazing to think that the pictures of the HST represent so many of us around the world. Who would have thought in January when we signed up for this exchange that so many quilters would join in the fun! I can hardly wait to see the pictures of the sorting party!!!! Thanks, Debbie for all your efforts.

Quick question...I can't remember what we are putting on the stickers for each HST..and don't want to go back through all post to find.
I think we were putting our Screen Name, City, State???? Thanks. I will get them in the mail soon, good thing I live in Texas, they don't
have to go far.

Dawn, there is also a detailed checklist on page 67. Please review that checklist carefully before packaging and mailing your HSTs. I have posted and reposted it several times in the last few weeks in the hopes that people will follow it. I'm actually going to repost it again this morning and you'll find it directly below this post.
To everyone that hasn't mailed packages yet, your help in reading the guidelines and following checklist will be greatly appreciated!!

REPEATING YET AGAIN BECAUSE BASED ON SOME OF THE PACKAGES I'VE RECEIVED THE PAST FEW DAYS, SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT READING THIS SO I'LL CONTINUE TO TRY AND HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!!
ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT UNTIL THE FRIDAY, APRIL 1 DEADLINE...AND THAT DEADLINE IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE  !!!!
THIS BEARS REPEATING AGAIN AND AGAIN EVERY DAY FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T MAILED YOUR PACKAGES YETPLEASE USE THIS CHECKLIST AND IT WILL MAKE RECEIVING AND SORTING THE HST's SO MUCH EASIER ON EVERYONE INVOLVED!!!
AS OF FRIDAY, MARCH 25, WE HAVE 471 PACKAGES CONTAINING 187,860 HSTs AND 45 OF THOSE ARE INTERNATIONAL...THAT MEANS THERE ARE STILL ABOUT 144 PACKAGES STILL OUTSTANDING.
HERE'S A HELPFUL CHECKLIST TO USE BEFORE PACKAGING AND MAILING YOUR HSTs (which DO need to be received by FRIDAY, APRIL 1st (LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY, so hopefully EVERYONE, especially members from outside the U.S. have mailed their packages or will air mail (International) them THIS WEEK!)
____ HST's folded & NOT pressed open and paper has NOT been removed. DO NOT SEND MORE THAN 700 HST'S.
____ HST's have NOT been put into individual baggies, but have been neatly stacked & placed in a larger Ziplock bag (or smaller if
not sending that many)...see photo below. Remember we have to remove HSTs from smaller bags before sort day, so you
do not need to separate them into colors or counts. Only the TOTAL count is what matters!
_____ If including HSTs for Queensland, Hanne or Christchurch, those have been put into individual bags & marked appropriately.
____ Screen Name, Real Name and HST count has been clearly marked on the Ziplock bag.
____ If International, contact Clara Lawrence (SN: ClaraLawrence) to get information on how to charge your return postage on PayPal.
Review the 2nd Post on the 1st Page of this Forum to determine how many & what size boxes are required depending on
how many HST's you will be having returned to you.
____ If International, include your address label or labels, depending on how many return boxes you paid for, along with
a copy of your PayPal receipt. Review the 2nd Post on the 1st Page of this Forum to determine how
many boxes are required depending on how many HST's you will be having returned to you. Do NOT include a
return envelope because it CANNOT be used. We aleady have all the International Flat Rate Boxes required to return them.
____ For Domestic packages: Return envelope has stamps, your OWN address as both 'sender' and 'recipient'. Remember not to use
P.O. Box addess as 'sender' since it will be closed after the Exchange. If your package is returned there for insufficient postage, it
may wind up in an unknown  , unhappyhome forever. Also, if you are the 'sender', then it will get returned to YOU for
additional postage.
____ Mailing envelope is sturdy and is clearly marked with your ScreenName & HST count and it has been taped, taped & triple
taped to make sure it won't open on it's way to Katy.
____ Once package is mailed, send Debbie (SN: NaneeWolf) an email to her PROFILE PAGE (not as a PRIVATE MESSAGE
or Forum post) to let her know package is on the way. That way she can let you know by return email when your package arrives.
HURRY, HURRY, HURRY TO GET YOUR PACKAGES IN THE MAIL, ESPECIALLY INTERNATIONAL...APRIL 1ST DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING!

Members who haven't mailed your packages yet, I'm begging & pleading with you to follow the checklist closely (posted immediately above this post) and do not, I repeat, do not, put your HSTs into individual baggies AND if you do decide  not to follow the checklist and you do put them into individual baggies, then don't tape them shut  For sorting day, the HSTs cannot be in individual baggies, so when they come in like that, I have to spend time taking them out. Consider this a time saver for both you and me, plus a 'baggie saver' !
I just received a package of 700 put into 16 individual baggies than taped shut. 16 doesn't seem like a lot, but when I'm having to open the 15 packages received today, that just adds to the amount of time I can't get back to my quilting. The packages I received today were only sent within the last week and that checklist has been posted every day or every other day for sometime now, so there shouldn't be any reason to receive packages like that, especially with the picture posted with the checklist.

Most of us have had to make several attempts to get our signatures just the way we want them.
If you will print out the directions and follow each step, you can do this!

Ok here goes first entry for the lyrics challange.
Sorting Queen.....(apologies to ABBA)
You can count, you can sort , having the time of your life.
Ooo...see that girl, watch that seam, stitchin', the Sorting Queen
Friday night and the quilts are low
Looking for some half squares to sew,
Where the colours are clashing, triangles are my thing
You can sew up a king.
Feathered star or shoo-fly,
Stitches small and the wadding's high,
With a bit of charm fabric, a layer cake or 2
You want some squares to patch,
Seam line's are up to scratch.
You are the Sorting Queen counting thousands, past seventeen,
Sorting Queen, feel the thrum from the sewing machine oh yeah
You can sew, you can sort , having the time of you life
Ooo.. see that girl, watch that seam, stitchin' the Sorting Queen.
You're the Counter, you sort them out
Twenty-eights in piles, that's the count,
Packing up the baggies, odd ones every where,
Boxes are ready to pack,
Throw Postie another sack.
You are the Sorting Queen, counting thousands, past seventeen,
Sorting Queen, feel the thrum from the sewing machine oh yeah
You can sew, you can sort , having the time of you life
Ooo.. see that girl, watch that seam, stitchin' the Sorting Queen.
Sew with the Sorting Queen
So - any other budding lyricist's who can improve on that? (pleeeeease! )
