LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LEFT UNTIL THE APRIL 1 DEADLINE!!!!
THIS BEARS REPEATING AGAIN AND AGAIN EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T MAILED YOUR PACKAGES YETPLEASE USE THIS CHECKLIST AND IT WILL MAKE RECEIVING AND SORTING THE HST's SO MUCH EASIER ON EVERYONE INVOLVED!!!
ON THURSDAY, MARCH 17, I HAD RECEIVED 380 PACKAGES CONTAINING 151,314 AND 35 OF THOSE ARE INTERNATIONAL...THAT MEANS THERE ARE STILL ABOUT 235 PACKAGES OUTSTANDING. I HAVE NOT PICKED UP PACKAGES SINCE LAST THURSDAY, BECAUSE I ACTUALLY LEFT FRIDAY MORNING AND SPENT A VERY ENJOYABLE WEEKEND OUT OF TOWN. I HOPE WHEN I PICK UP THE MAIL TODAY, THERE WILL BE A LOT OF PACKAGES WAITING FOR ME AND I'LL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A MUCH BETTER UPDATE COUNT ONCE THEY ARE ALL CHECKED IN.
HERE'S A HELPFUL CHECKLIST TO USE BEFORE PACKAGING AND MAILING YOUR HSTs (which DO need to be received by FRIDAY, APRIL 1st (LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY, so hopefully EVERYONE, especially members from outside the U.S. have mailed their packages or will air mail (International) them THIS WEEK!)
____ HST's folded & NOT pressed open and paper has NOT been removed.
____ HST's have NOT been put into individual baggies, but have been neatly stacked & placed in a larger Ziplock bag (or smaller if
not sending that many)...see photo below. Remember we have to remove HSTs from smaller bags before sort day, so you
do not need to separate them into colors or counts. Only the TOTAL count is what matters!
_____ If including HSTs for Queensland, Hanne or Christchurch, those have been put into individual bags & marked appropriately.
____ Screen Name, Real Name and HST count has been clearly marked on the Ziplock bag.
____ If International, contact Clara Lawrence (SN: ClaraLawrence) to get information on how to charge your return postage on PayPal.
Review the 2nd Post on the 1st Page of this Forum to determine how many & what size boxes are required depending on
how many HST's you will be having returned to you.
____ If International, include your address label or labels, depending on how many return boxes you paid for, along with
a copy of your PayPal receipt. Review the 2nd Post on the 1st Page of this Forum to determine how
many boxes are required depending on how many HST's you will be having returned to you. Do NOT include a
return envelope because it CANNOT be used. We aleady have all the International Flat Rate Boxes required to return them.
____ For Domestic packages: Return envelope has stamps, your OWN address as both 'sender' and 'recipient'. Remember not to use
P.O. Box addess as 'sender' since it will be closed after the Exchange. If your package is returned there for insufficient postage, it
may wind up in an unknown  , unhappyhome forever. Also, if you are the 'sender', then it will get returned to YOU for
additional postage.
____ Mailing envelope is sturdy and is clearly marked with your ScreenName & HST count and it has been taped, taped & triple
taped to make sure it won't open on it's way to Katy.
____ Once package is mailed, send Debbie (SN: NaneeWolf) an email to her PROFILE PAGE (not as a PRIVATE MESSAGE
or Forum post) to let her know package is on the way. That way she can let you know by return email when your package arrives.
HURRY, HURRY, HURRY TO GET YOUR PACKAGES IN THE MAIL, ESPECIALLY INTERNATIONAL...APRIL 1ST DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING!

I hope to mail my package today or tomorrow. I will let you for sure after
I mail it that its on its way. I finally was able to watch Edyta show on the HST
over the weekend. I liked the way you could sew many triangles at one time
compared to Thangles but since my LQS had thangles I thought I would buy
locally. Enjoying the updates !
Happy Quilting everyone and hopefully everyone did give their sewing machine attention on National Quilting Day!

I can't wait to get my HSTs! What is the latest count?
As a side note, I read somewhere in the forum that it isn't necessary to wash batiks because the process used to make them causes them to be washed multiple times. This info is NOT accurate! I just ruined a quilt by listening to this comment. I just thought I'd pass this info along, because I wouldn't want anybody else to invest the amount of time and money into a quilt that I did, and then have it ruined.

OMG   ...I JUST RECEIVED THE MOST INCREDIBLY AWESOME GIFT PACKAGE FROM POSYP (aka ROSEMARY) from the U.K.
THERE IS ALSO A GIFT FOR YOU, CLARA, BUT YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SORT DAY TO GET IT BECAUSE I WANT TO GIVE IT TO YOU WITH ALL OF OUR SORT HELPERS AND TO ACTUALLY TAKE A PICTURE (and VIDEO??) WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT. YES, THERE IS INDEED A LITTLE BIT OF THE DEVIL  IN ME...He, he, he!
Rosemary, you are extremely talented and must have a monumental sense of humor   !!!
AND THAT MEANS THAT ALL OF OUR OTHER SOTTT's MEMBERS WILL HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE ROSEMARY'S GIFT WHEN WE POST IT ON THE FORUM AFTER SORTING DAY. SO SORRY, BUT I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL CLARA'S SURPRISE  .
AND HUGE THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF THE SOTTT'S MEMBERS WHO HAVE SO GENEROUSLY SENT EXTRA-SPECIAL GIFTS SUCH AS CHOCOLATES FROM SWITZERLAND & CHOCOLATIERS ON THE NORTHEAST COAST, EXTRA HSTs, BEAUTIFUL FAT QUARTERS AND HAND-DYES, AND THE CASH & CHECKS TO HELP US WITH EXPENSES. YOU ARE ALL VERY, VERY SPECIAL AND WE SINCERELY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR THOUGHTFULNESS.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about yout problems with the batik quilt. I use batiks all the time and have never prewashed. I just use a color grabber sheet when washing the quilt the first time or two and have never had a problem - at least not yet. I don't know if washing it again with one now would help but might be worth a try.

Charlotte, I'm not sure what the snafoo is, but if you will print out the directions and follow them one step at a time, you will probably get it to work.
And for what it's worth, a lot of us had to try several times!!
