Ok, so I understand using the papers and the HST concept, but you said to cut them apart with the light on top. I always thought with these papers that you put the dark on top and pressed toward the dark so the paper comes off easily. I also understand that you only want them cut apart but not pressed. Please clarify before I jump in with both feet for yet another project!!!

Christine,
When Edyta was explaining the 'how to' on the show, she suggested to put the light on the top so when you finally pull of the paper and open it, the seam will correctly be toward the dark fabric which is what you want so draker fabric doesn't show through to the light.
Also, you DO need to press it once you finish sewing and trimming it, but remember NOT to unfold it or take the paper off. The paper won't be taken off until the recipients are ready to sew them into their project.
Edyta did a good job of showing all the steps of the process, so I would recommend that everyone rewatch that segment before you get started. I'm a visual person and can understand it much better if I see it rather than have to read it. Once I get my papers and I'm ready to sew, I'm definitely going to watch it again.
Hope this helps both you and anyone else who has the same concerns.

The name of the exchange alone is worth jumping in with both feet. Count me in - this is going to be such fun!!

I ordered papers yesterday and will start fondling my fabrics soon!! Lots of batiks in the stash but this presents the perfect opportunity to buy more. I'm thinking about making two sets of every fabric combination - one to keep and one to send off. That sewing machine better rest up.
Got my papers yesterday, printed labels and put them on the triangles today. I plan on doing 10 sheets or 280 HST. I know what I'll be doing this weekend!!

A question was asked about the size of the HST's once they're sewn into your project. The paper's package said it is 2" finished and that is what it will be once sewn into your project.
I just measured one of Edyta's triangles from our previous exchange. It was still folded with the paper on it, so I know it is accurate.
Opened and pressed with the seam closed, it does measure 2-1/2", so once sewn into our project with a 1/4" seam, it will measure 2".

I want to do this too. Count me in
Gail

Now, let's see, 28 tri's to a page and 28 pages would be 784 triangle squares. That would make a nice size quilt. If I make that many; I could sort in sandwich bags so that each 28 would be different and the hostess would not have to sort them either. Do tell me if I'm out of line with this suggestion, OK?

In response to Gail from Verona, Virginia USA:
If you want to send 784 HST's, that's fine. However, since most people probably won't be making that many, you may wind up getting some of your own back. What you might want to consider is sending a hundred or maybe two hundred to this exchange then maybe do a similar exchange with your quilting buddies to get more.
We're not setting any maximum limits, but we do want to manage your expectations if you send in too many.
Does that help?
