Top is finished! And I’m so proud of how my first mitered borders came out, thanks to Barbara’s tutorial! Of course I did the math wrong the first time, luckily I had lots of fabric!

Finished piecing my Kaleidoscope top. 4 Inch finished pinwheel blocks around a 17 inch Kaleidoscope, Wedgies and Butts extended to make an 18 inch center medallion. Loved how the seams nestled together making piecing a breeze. Fun, fun, fun! Awesome instructions Ricky Tims!

Here is my Kaleidoscope completed top. It was fun to do. It is a mix of batiks and some cotton prints. This was made using the Ricky's kaleidoscope book as well as watching the class videos. Although I like the look, there were times when I thought that I may have missed the mark. I can hardly wait to have it quilted. It will be a wall hanging and I may put it in our local show.

Patricia H, Of all that I have looked at, and I think I have seen them all, I love yours the best. HelenW

I used fabrics I had in my stash and this is the end result. Not sure what I will do with it next, ! I will try this again with fabrics that I prefer. I probably would never have tried making this but found it a fascinating process and had plenty of time in lockdown in Sydney. Australia. Thanks Ricky.

Yvonne, It looks like you nailed the process. And Ricky did say "Use fabrics you LOVE". Bet there are a lot of quilters that can't make just one.

I am finished my top. I would have never done this on my own. I appreciate your great instructions, Ricky. It was so much fun to see how the quilt came together. I absolutely love everyone’s creation. Thank you. NANCY

Late to the party. Almost done with the segments. Even though the pieces are haphazardly placed I can see how they will come together. I tacked a skull in place just to show why the black near the center is so large. Hope to finish the piece in time for Dia de los Muertos.

Here is my creation. Very cool. Will marinate before considering borders is any.

Me too! I wonder if it was very difficult to get it to lie reasonably flat?

I've sewn the center part and thinking about the borders now.

Something was bugging me about my caleidoscope when my partner looked at the pictures of the progression.
He said he liked the one without the last strata added than the completed one.
Aha! There it was, the solution to my quandry. So I remade the last strata, in much lighter fabric, to emphasise the star shape and now I'm much happier.
Here is a picture with the darker strata, before I changed them.

Ready for quilting! What a fun project! Thank you, Ricky, and all of your admins for their assistance. Focus fabric is by Paula Nadelstern. It was a challenge to work with and I did my share fair of ripping out, but it was worth it in the end.
