What would happen if you did color block strata??? Thought I would see. A lot of my fun comes from tweaking

      It’s fabulous!

In no particular order, here are my 5 stratas for Kool Kaleidoscope. I made one strata so far--each is pressed from left to right. The second, identical twin strata to each of these will now be sewn and pressed from right to left. I am always eager to get sewing and "see" what the strata look like. And having one done allows me to have a visual cue on my design wall as I sew the second strata.

I have NO idea how this will turn out, or what my design will look like. Simply trusting the process. I did add one stripe, Ricky recommends against this. It is fairly dark so I hope it will work out. If not, that's on me, I didn't follow directions.

My friends/students who agonize over every fabric choice and want to know exactly where each fabric will go would find this challenging. Exactly why they should try it. You learn something from each quilt--even it it's "I don't want to do that again".

Looking forward to Friday when Ricky teaches us how to design and prepare our templates.

I have a stripe also, pretty sure he meant not to use one as the strata...not - to not use them in the strata. I think this will be beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it some together.

Barbara B. I didn't realize that each strata could be different colors. Ricky's looked the same. I love having the range of colors. I think I will do mind like that. Each Strata has an identical strata underneath it right using the same color fabric?

      [/QUOTE]

In the event your strata is not "wide-enough", you'll simply add another strip when necessary before proceeding. This will become clear as we move forward.
