I am so happy I took this class. It really stretched me and inspired me. I’ve been wanting to do something artistic, and modern, and this was the perfect way to jump out of traditional quilting. Thank you Ricky. I’ve been watching TQS for several years which has given me so many tips, ideas, and support. Now to dream about borders!

Now to take a deep breath and put it all together. Yes, I was naughty-bad and changed out the center. It just wasn't working. Auditioned fabrics for wedgies and butts last night and haven't found the right one(s) yet.
I keep hearing Santana and Rob Thomas (from Smooth), "Man, it's a hot one!"
PS. RT, this definitely stretched my brain! Thank you, thank you, thank you.Last edited by WhiskersMama; 08-06-2021, 01:02 PM.

Thank you Ricky for this amazing class. I am so excited and happy that I took this class. Loved going through my stash and already have strips cut up ready to make one for each of my children and/or grandchildren. Your instructions were very clear and I am so delighted with the way mine and the quilts of the other participants turned out.Last edited by ZOHRA A.; 08-06-2021, 03:13 PM.

This was so fun, I could not stop sewing! I did easy-peasy borders because it's going into a smaller space...a little sitting room off the kitchen (former breakfast nook). Quilting it tomorrow, as I can't wait to get it on the wall. Thank you, Ricky, for such a well thought out "non pattern". I love that everyone's is different. My next one will have fractured borders!Sue Thorson Hecker

Here is where I am up to with my quilt.
I haven’t followed Ricky’s instructions to the letter as we are back in Lockdown with Quilt Stores not being an essential service and therefore shut so I could not buy new fabric. I did however have a Quilt Pack of 24 fat eights of Moda Morris Modernised, with a fat quarter and a 9” strip of complementary fabrics for the borders that has been on my shelves waiting until it could tell me what it wanted to be. This was the perfect quilt pattern but a significant problem with the size of the fabric available. Time for the thinking cap.
I am also doing the Block of the Month “Colour my World” so thought I could use that technique with the folded freezer paper piecing. I made the initial template as per instructions, then went on to make freezer paper templates of each section. On these I drew the strata lines following the Fibonacci sequence of numbers being 1,2,3,5 and 8 using ¼ inch as the basis. That is ¼ in, ½ in, ¾ in, 1 ¾ in and 2” stripes. I also only made the kaleidoscope wedges only 16” as my quilt hanger is only 36” wide.
I am very pleased with it; this is exactly what that bundle of fabric wanted to be.
