'Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet' by Jamie Ford. You can definitely get it in CD form so I guess it would be on one of the audio sites. I haven't tried them yet. 'The Housekeeper and the Professor' by Yoko Ogawa and Stephen Snyder (?). Any of the Harry Potter books read by Stephen Fry - magic. Have a good trip Connie. I hope you will have your homework done before you go?

Thanks so much for this info. I have read all of these books. Are you saying that because the reading has been done so well I might enjoy revisiting them? BTW, my favorite audiobook is Eat, Pray, Love. It is read by the author and is done wonderfully. I had that years ago on audiotapes. Don't know if it's available digitally. This idea (quilting and listening to books) is new to me. I am thinking it would help with FMQ and conquering some UFO's.Originally posted by gynconnieLadies, my 3 favorite audiobooks of all time are The Guernsey Literary and Pototo Peel Pie Society, The Secret Life of Bees, and The Help. It's not just enough that the book is good; it's the performance that makes all the difference. These three are top notch! Does anyone have additional audiobook recommendations? I'm leaving on a 3 week journey by car next Monday, and I would love to download some entertainment before then! (Hoping to have February's BOM work done by then, too! )
Rita & Susan thanks for the recomemdations. I've got to get moving on this idea its great!

Oh I like that Margo. Yes the curious want to know if this will be a full sized version or what?
Meanwhile I have just about run out of one of my fabrics -what I used for all the triangles. I thought I had another piece but can't find it anywhere. And I probably only need about a 6" strip to finish all the sashing. I think my mistake was that I only did 4 of the long sashing strips for month 1 and thought I had done them all. Oh well, at least this is scrappy and I will just substitute. (No doubt as soon as I have them all done I will find that piece of fabric lurking in the back of my stash cupboard or something.

Well I managed to get one section done, it took me quite a long time only because the add a quarter technique is new to me . I have to say that I enjoyed this way
of Paper Piecing a lot thanks to Margo's brilliant instuctions . It is not perfect but I feel sure that I will improve as I go along, and hopefully I will speed up as well ,
If only I could take a sabatical from Housework cooking and all boring jobs or is that just a lame excuse. Colour is more Rust than red, it looks a bit scarey to me at the
moment but nothing ventured nothing gained as they say. One section down only another seven small and 4 long to go, I may be some time in my sewing room !!!!

Okay, Sue, I could not stand it any more and had to look up what Yn Harddwch Gogledd Cymru

Renata, thanks for sharing that video. Sue, do you needs any more neighbors? What a beautiful place you live in, and, your strip looks great. I did month one on a wing and a prayer and it worked out. I finally really learned what I was doing by about the last strip so month 2 is easier. I finger press and estimate trimming.

This will be full size. I'm thinking that I may want to go back and get some more fabric....just in case! :roll:Originally posted by LoriReidLooking very nice, Margo. Is this one going to be a small version or full size?
Then again, I should probably be shopping my stash and make it sorta scrappy?? :?:
Decisions, decisions!
Sue, your sashing is looks great, and the video of your beautiful homeland makes me want to take a road trip!

Cleaning up the mess...I discovered that a cheap foam sponge brush is wonderful for sweeping the bits and pieces into the waste basket.
and my extra fabric came today so I'll be thinking about

which is a duplicate of the site Frances posted in WoTT.

Renata I looked it up a few weeks ago too. Wales is really beautiful. Sue your sashing is looking great.
Margo, you should shop your stash...and then go buy more fabric to fill the gap!
Susan, cleaning up the mess is right! I couldn't believe the mess on my sewing room floor today. If it wasn't just me using the room I could have blamed DH or the kids! It's the down side of paper piecing. And I haven't even taken the papers off most of mine yet.
