Nancy on my profile you will find two pictures that show all of the fabrics that I used and the finished quilt top. However, NONE of the pictures show the true colors and I'm too bizzy to take a photography class! :wink:Originally posted by ntrquilterMargo, where did you post photos of the fabrics you used in the 09 BOM? It is really beautiful and I can't wait to get started.

Thanks for the kudos! I'm really pleased with how this quilt turned out, but like some of you, was not sure when I started it. It was much more involved than anything I had ever done before, but Sue's directions make it so do-able! I hope we have a huge BOM SQUAD for 2009!
I told Sue that some members are not sure they can handle the pieced quilt and this is what she just sent me:
"..... when you post info on the quilt and try to calm down those who are a little fearful… remind them that 1) there are some easier options, 2) they can STOP at any time and call it quits – that is, they can make a lap quilt, or set the blocks differently when they get them all done. For example, I know some people don’t like square quilts; they can take those stars staggered stars and put them on the top and bottom and none on the sides for a longer, rectangular quilt. There are all kinds of ways to do this quilt. If setting the blocks on point is too difficult, they don’t have to set them on point – they will just have to add spacers around them. Or to make it easier, they can make them the center of a square-in-square block and then add them. Or they can take ANY of the blocks and just make it a piece of plain fabric. There are a lot of ways to make this easy!!!"

Margo,
Did you by chance change the size of a couple of your interior borders? It may be an illusion on my computer screen but it appears that the greenish checkerboard fabric that is on each side of the twirly fans (sorry I can't remember the name of those blocks) is wider than the one on the Daily Blog. I can't quit looking at the construction of this quilt. It really is exquisite.

GOOD EYE, JO JO!! Yes! My center was considerably different from what the directions said it should have been, but it layed flat and I wasn't about to make another one!! Sue's directions tell us how to compensate for differences like that!! Every floater can be adjusted to make it fit the size of YOUR blocks! Cool, huh??? You don't cut the floaters until you have made the pieced blocks that go outside it so you can make everything fit perfectly! The "twirly fans" are called pinwheel blocks in the pattern!Originally posted by ladyquilterMargo,

Well that is pretty cool that she allowed for differences and how to make them all perfect but different at the same time. Okay... I can't stand it any longer. I'm going to make it! :shock:Originally posted by MargoGOOD EYE, JO JO!! Yes! Happy, if you will click on DAILY BLOG (on the top purple bar) and scroll down to October 30 you can see Sue's original quilt that shows the colors that are in the kit that will be sold in the TQS Shoppe as soon as they get the fabrics cut. My version was done mostly with scraps and my profile also shows two pictures of all the fabrics I used. This quilt will be wonderful done in any color theme that suits your fancy!

The 2009 BOM is absolutely gorgeous; and although it looks quite intimidating, I'm going to join in the fun. Paper piecing hasn't been my favorite technique so far but this should help. I should perfect points by the end of the project also. I'm hoping to add some new fat quarters to what's left from my 2008 BOM. Of course, I'll have to come up with a great fabric replacement for that beautiful floral. I've even convinced one friend to join in the fun and attack her tremendous stash for the project.
