If printing the patterns counts, and I think it does, I'm not as far behind as I thought! Thanks for setting me straight as to the definition of "getting started." Love it, love it.

Now, I just need to finish January and start appliqueing February (which I've already cut out.) :-)

Thank you for the comments, Judy and Linda. I wasn't sure how many liberties I could take with the pattern; but when I put the pieces down on the background, I really liked the way it looked. My apologies to Susan.

Aw, shoot, Marge. I think that Sue will really like it!! That's the beauty of applique. It's so much fun to really make it your own!

Marge, don't worry about taking a little "poetic license" with your blocks I agree with Margo it is lovely. And if the "BOM squad of the quilting police are going to arrest someone for "alteration of a pattern" felony, They will be after me long before they look for you. First of all all my blocks are mirror images of the pattern because in the beginning I was too dumb to do them right and once I started I thought shoot just keep on doing it that way. Secondly my black and whites are just plain funky and often quite different placement because of some of the things I use to make them. And now, silly me I have started a miniature set of blocks in Brazilian and silk ribbon embroidery. When you look up crazy in the dictionary, you will find my picture. LOL

So go for it girl. I will keep the BOM police squad too busy for them to even worry about you.

One of my favorite parts of this design is being able to use such a variety of fabrics. Margo, I love how the green fabric with letters worked into your June block.

My second June block is posted in my Member Blog (I'm Snow Quilter) If you say it fast you will get the joke.

Anyway sure am glad that this month was easy since I had a little detour on the way to getting it done. But all is well I am back on track.

Many of you have asked about the Brazilian embroidery block I have done. Yes they will be a quilted wall hanging when all twelve are done. I have taken pictures of some of my other embroidery both Brazilian and silk ribbon and will post them in a new blog hopefully tonight.

Thanks for all the comments and compliments. You are the best!!!!!

Ann, I have some UFO ribbon embroidery that someone gave me (her mother's project, now deceased). They were all a kit at some time, I think. Think I can figure out the stitches by looking at what's been done? Or do you have a book to suggest? Thanks!

I am going to have to get the thesaurus out. Every time I go to look at someone's block, My first word out is 'Wow!" I've got to get past the 4th grade vocabulary, here. LOL I have a great time seeing what everyone comes up with. I seem to check my email and come here to see the new BOM's. So I seem to start my days with "Wow! (better get going on mine...)"

Camille, love your June block! Your stitching looks so perfect. The fabrics look almost like flannel on my screen.

Everybody has been doing a great job! And I love "the BOM squad"! Kudos to whomever came up with that!

Maybe we need to take a vote for an official designation?

No matter what they call us, our blocks ROCK!
