Janice, it is beautiful! And I love how you've added some extra detail to the heart shapes, too! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the setting triangles!

Janice, your block is beautiful! I love your flowers, also! You are not slow! There are some of us that are still working on ours, and have not even come close to finishing! But, we're getting there!

I have just finished my applique of my center block. I traced my vine onto the green and cut away as I went. I traced my shapes onto my fabric and needle turned the rest. I have had a great time with this block so far. I'm still thinking about trying the piping. I don't have the tool but may try some and see how it comes out. I was thinking of using the dark purple as the piping but will audtion some of the other fabrics as well.

Sue it looks great! If you don't have the binding ruler by Susan Cleveland http://www.piecesbewithyou.com/patte...ing_detail.htm

you can also use an "Add-A-Quarter" ruler. You just have to be a little more careful to line up the cording next to the lip of the ruler!

Or you can add several layers of painters tape to the bottom side of a regular ruler to create a lip to snug up against the cording. Where there's a will......

Don't forget to post your picture of the center block in the 2011 show and tell section. I love going there and looking at all of the blocks.

Janice and Sue, Your blocks are beautiful!!!! Great job. I am off to a fabric sale tomorrow and still haven't started my block. For anyone who is debating about the piping, I have made crumbcatchers in the past. They are basically piping without the piping cord. You get the same effect with the color of the fabric. You just done get the 3d effect. However they are that bit easies to do. Same principal, but omit the cord. Whenever I have used them they always seem to add that 'something' to a quilt. :-)

Sue, your block is very delicate looking. You did a wonderful job!

Thank you to everyone for the kind words about MY center block. I am not a pink person at all, but I love the "Beloved Beauties" fabric because of the diversity in it. It was fun to mix and match the checks and stripes, etc. Plus, I added a few Jo Morton fabrics to it. I am excited to figure out what colors and shapes to add to next month's borders.
