Welcome, Alex! Your block is beautiful and your colors are too. Your English is fine, plus you'll find a lot of people here who are willing to help if you need it. Have fun with the quilt!

Alexandra your block is beautiful, your embroidery is a very nice touch. Thanks for sharing and I will look forward to seeing your quilt grow! I've completed the 15" block for my center, I'm now designing the corner blocks. It's really coming along nicely! This is fun!

Not that I will be doing the BOM but I am enjoying reading the thought processes of how some of the variations came about. There might be a better place to share this tid bit of information but I couldn't help but post it here when the conversation went to making sure that fabrics offer enough contrast with the background. The easiest way to see if you have enough contrast is to take a photo of the swatches or lay your swatches on the photo copier or scanner. We always want everything in color. This is an exception. Print the photo/copy in black ink and you will see shades and degree of contrast. I have saved myself a lot of frustrations in my color choices with this technique.

That is a great tip. Thanks Agnes. I have used the red viewing strip but this sounds like an easier way for me to tell contrast and to determine lights, darks and mediums.

Debbie--Hope you are as happy with this technique as I am. The red viewing strip just doesn't do it for me.
