Good morning! The kit page has two different yardages noted: The first says 13 yards and the other says 17.63yards. Can you please confirm? Thank you and looking forward to a fun project!

Sure. The Solids are the exact fabrics Becky used in the amounts she used, a total of 13 yards. The pattern will use them for cutting instructions.

The Prints are very similar to those Becky used from her substantial stash. The colors/designs are as close as our buyer can find from today’s fabrics. There is 17.63 yards in that kit since most are fat quarters. This allows for maximum scrappiness and each person can make their quilt as unique as they are. The pattern instructions will be a guide where to use the prints but it won’t be completely specific with the prints. Once past the middle, anything goes for the borders.

This also explains the difference in price between the kits: more fabric costs more.

I am a lover of Tilda fabrics so I purchased the solid kit, but am wondering what the quilt would look like using not only the solids but, also include some of my Tilda prints. The colors blend beautifully.

I'm excited to start the 2026 BOM and will be using totally from my stash, except for the background. Is there a yardage requirement for the background fabric? I found a fabric I'd like to use but don't know how much to buy? Thank you

Planning my fabrics around the color wheel. I took the solids fabrics and kind of put them where I thought they might fall
on the color wheel. Except the brown/beige 3. I am thinking I will do the center block using the 12 colors on this color wheel.
I don't plan to include browns in my center. Now to take the coloring page and start playing. It is so nice to have so much
time to play around with ideas. Thanks for posting the coloring page and fabric requirements way ahead of time.

Hello: First time doing BOM and ordering fabric kit. I did as Barbara suggested and cut out fabric swatch tags and labeled all the fabrics I received in kit. One fabric I question is 1/4 yd Soft teal. To me it looks like lime green. Did I receive correct color fabric and will it work in the BOM? I tried to send a photo of a few fabrics, but was unsuccessful. Thank you

If you couldn’t upload photos they were probably too big. Resize them smaller and try again.

There could be a mistake since humans packed the kits elsewhere. Do you have a 1/2 yard of Lime green? Soft Teal is a 1/4 yard. If you have two different fabrics like that, the 1/4 yard is Soft Teal. I did find it a bit of a challenge to identify a couple of the teals.

If you are really missing something email [email protected]. You should have 25 different colors and white. Include a photo if you have a duplicate. If they are different sizes they are different fabrics.

Lime Green on left is 1/2 yd and Soft Teal is 1/4 yd next to Lime Green. The Soft Teal does not look like a Teal to me, but do you think these colors are correct? I did receive 25 different colors and white. Most colors I could identify with no problem, but the teals were a challenge for me. Thanks for your help.

Debbie, they look right. I found the teals a bit challenging too. Using the yardage made it easier. Don’t let the name confuse you, match the color swatch.

I am looking to source my own fabrics, when the requirements say quarter yard, can we use a fat quarter? Can we use a fat quarter for the 1/8ard as well? thank-you

Yes, for the most part you can. The regular quarter yards are to insure long pieces can be cut without needing to seam two pieces together. I am up to month 4 and fat quarters will work so far. A fat quarter definitely substitutes for an eighth yard.

Do you need to prepare the kit fabrics with starch or best press?

I don't. You can if you like to do that. Becky Goldsmith does like to pre-wash her fabric and sometimes uses starch or Best Press if she feels it will help.

I don't know anything about paper piecing and don't know if I would like it. Are the instructions base on the quilt being entirely paper pieced?

Not entirely but mostly. A couple of the outer borders are not paper pieced.
The instructions and many additional videos provided by the designer give all the information you need to be successful. There is a learning curve to FPP (foundation paper piecing) but once you get it, you can do anything.

Take a look at this Tutorial I have on the process using Freezer Paper--not what Becky does in Game On! but the process I will show:
            https://bbquiltmaker.blogspot.com/20...n-piecing.html

Here is a blog post I did that shows Basic Paper Piecing, like will be done in Game On! About half way down in the post is a simple Square in a Square block demo you can draw out yourself to try the process. Very easy once you get the hang of sewing on the paper with the fabric UNDER the paper:

Judy, there is no reason you can't combine both solids and prints in your Game On! Decide as you go which fabrics you want to use where. For example, in the center Medallion, Month 2, the outer border fabrics that surround the white spikey pieces would look great in prints. Make your choices as you go.

I look forward to seeing what you decide.

My stash is old and deep. I found a jelly roll ombre solids. Since I cannot look ahead—is there a border that would suit the 2.5” widths?

Yes, Marianne, there are several borders where some of your 2.5" fabrics will work, along with larger cuts of other fabrics.
