Finished Month Four for both the Grandmother and Granddaughter quilts. I found this block to be really labor intensive and absolutely appreciated the wonderful diagrams that Lynn supplied and all of Barbara's great tips about measuring, measuring and measuring!!

I could’nt stand it! While it saddens me greatly to pull the very colorful fabric, I just did not see how I could have the details of the checkerboard and the stars without switching to a more subtle pattern. I can still use the colorful fabric for the outer border. I’ll add the first and second rendition photos.

That makes a big difference. It's hard to change when you're in love with a fabric, bravo!

I'll be gone most of May, but April is done, and I'll catch up in June. That diagram to lay out the squares was fantastic.

Instead of using triangles for the "B" fabric, I used squares (same as for fabrics C & D). The excess was trimmed when I attached the final "A" piece.

Gayle A, Great idea. I did that exact thing when I made the block in a different pattern. The
block was bigger, but it just seemed logically easier. HelenW

It does mean you will use almost twice as much fabric for the small triangles, with some going in the trash. This could be a factor for the many people using the Kits.
