While I love the fabric that I chose, the detail in the checkerboard doesn’t show up very well. I’m hopeful that with the addition of the other blocks the details will be more noticeable

Pamela F You do have beautiful fabrics, but you will lose the look of the blocks if it is too busy.
If you look at the bottom right squares, they read as solid. If you put a row of solid type fabrics,
like for the half square triangle row, then print fabrics then solid type colors then print it would
show the look of the block more. Too much of a good thing is hard to resist, but following the
principles in quilting is important too. A lot times picking a focus fabric that you love and then
fabrics with colors that are in the focus fabrics. Don't forget to look at the fabrics that are in
the blocks next to the block you are making. They need to work well together also. HelenW

Its beautiful up close! I love your roses fabric.

Dear Pamela,
Yes, your fabrics are beautiful. I'm sure when you put more of blocks on a design wall, you will be able to see the overall design....which might be more subtle, and that's okay. This is YOUR quilt with your 'spin' on it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful creation.
Take care,
Lynn

I love how you've played around with the blocks! Yes, there are a lot of things to follow as with any pattern. It makes me happy that you learned a few things. I know I learn something with every quilt I design and make. You just keep adding tools to your quilting toolbox! --Lynn
