Those look great, wonderful addition to your quilt.

I decided to change the appliqué because I loved the pink plaid fabric so much. I used the Rosa Rojas and Alex Anderson methods of making and machine appliquéing. Two totally done (still need to trim) and 10 ready to machine appliqué. Hopefully they will play nicely with adjoining blocks!

Thanks Helen, those are good ideas. The one cent euro is too big also. Anyway this time I’m doing them with the glue like we did in Afternoon Delight. They’re not perfect but it will do. The other pieces I did with the starch and freezer paper technique.

I'm not going to do all the applique this month to highlight the flamingo fabric in the background. I purposely placed the hearts in circles in places between the birds and will celebrate their asymetry.

Thanks Helen, I will look at the tutorial but I can’t purchase them where I live so, like with other supplies suggested in the patterns, I have to find alternative ways to work. Thanks though!

Wow! OMG and amazing. You are incredibly talented! I like how you echoed the center design. It gives the quilt a look of radiating outwards. How much larger did you make the center star? Oh and your fabric is gorgeous! Seriously fantastic job!

I have Rosa’s Apliquick tools and large scissors but have never used them, this morning I decided to re-watch her TQS show and afterward ordered myself some of the one-sided fusible and glue sticks. In the meantime I made a heart template and a football templet out of heat resistant Mylar, I just wasn’t satisfied with the freezer paper method for these. I’m using KKB’s perfect circles for the center and where the football tips meet.

Ok company coming and like many quilters cleaning not on my favorite things to do list, so making some of those circles is my ‘break’. Using the starch method is bit challenging but it does work. Felt like a contortionist so put my wool ironing pad on a lazy susan which made starching in a circle easier. I can only do 3 or 4 at a time then need to do something else so I have completed one full block, 11 others ready for circles. My block is not perfect but best I can do. Maybe by the time I get to block 12 I’ll have all perfect circles, ha ha! Lorry
