I have all the ‘leaves’ done and saved those little circle suckers for last. One down 47 to go. I used starch. Dont know if this will help anyone but I traced the circle onto my block then stitched on the line using tiny stitches. Worked ok for me. LorryLast edited by Lorry0; 02-03-2025, 09:21 PM.

That is a great choice for a 5" alternative block. And it is one of my favorite simple blocks. Love how the plaid looks with your fabrics.

Have the seam allowance a little less than 1/4". There is not much room behind those small circles for lots of fabric.

This is my first attempt at applique. I have enjoyed it so far, and have all of the center Circles and hearts done, thanks in part to the Karen Kay Buckley Perfect Circles pack. However, I'm having trouble with the tiny circles. Are there any tips/tricks anyone can give to do these? I'm using the KKB perfect circles with this one too (the smallest circle in the pack).

I do a lot of handwork but have 2 large projects in progress so pieced blocks work. This is Double Wrench from Jinny Beyers book Patchwork Patterns. I’m mostly using fabrics my stash. I thought the plaid was important and ordered some fabrics from Lynn’s websiteLast edited by morvmullet; 02-03-2025, 03:03 PM.

Helen W. Thank you so much! I didn’t use EQ or anything else. I just had a fair amount of two different fabric lines that I wanted to use. I studied Lynn’s quilt extensively and tried to follow it, with my substitutions in mind. Then I went to my stash and started pulling other fabrics. I made samples of some blocks multiple times in order to get just the right look and I did draw the center medallion on graph paper. It has been one of the most fun quilts I’ve ever made. The blocks and layout are so innovative and I love the 5” size.
