I only did this months stars as I am using my own stash except for the background fabric and just not sure what things will be like in the end. I’m sure having trouble with fraying on the background fabric. Just wondering if it is only me???

Looks good, and you are not alone with the fraying

So I am one of those who worked ahead. Cannot wait until the next appliqué borders. I made up my own hearts.

Linda, I too like working ahead. Because I know when it comes to summer I slow down to a crawl.
Your design floor is a great way to get a look at the layout. It is a beautiful quilt in progress.

So - I took Barbara's advice and pieced the 1/2 sq triangles for the border outside the birds. I'm happy to have that done, because it looks like there is a lot of applique coming.

That kind of tip is the special added bonus I like to include in the LIVE presentations.

And, yes, Months 7,8, and 9 have plenty of appliqué.

Finished month 6 but can't go too far ahead with the stars since the colors I'm using are evolving with each month's addition. I absolutely love Barbara's method!!

Finished month 6 and have a start on the HST for later. Really happy with results. Did however, purchase more of the blue lady bugs so I could fuzzy cut the centers to match. Hoping there is enough of the dark blue for the outer border houses and the tulip appliques. Looking iffy.

Month 6 finished. I used Barbara's flying geese technique for the small stars and foundation piecing for star C. Some points are not as good as I hoped so may try again at a later date.
