Felt like the berries on the second pieced border were too cramped. Left off one of the small triangles from each set so the berries could be on a 4.5 x 5.5 inch background like the first border. This gave me room for a chubbier heart on the middle block as well.

Everyone, DON'T BE CONFUSED. Susie worked WAY AHEAD. The instructions for the the second pieced borders will come out in Month 10.
Susie has made design changes that suit her and has not followed photos of Sarah's quilt to exactly duplicate it.

NOTE: my outer pieced border is also different from the original quilt. There was a cutting error that has now been corrected. I needed a workaround so I didn't have to re-do a lot of work. I will discuss that in the LIVE broadcast Friday June 30, noon Central time.

It was a busy month, but I finally got all of them done. I too had trouble with Block C. I paper pieced it and even then it took me a while to realize that I needed precise pressing to get it right. I'm glad we did so many A and B Blocks 'cause now I have that whole flying geese process down pat. I learned so much this month about how to get blocks pieced exactly right! When i'm not to tired I'll sew together that border to the medallion. Sorry for the bad picture - it was just a long day of sewing!

I put this project down in May to go on vacation and didn't pick it back up for various reasons. But I love this quilt and the fabric I've chosen, so after Christmas craziness, I've picked it back up. Here's through month 6, all my stars are done and I started cutting out the shapes to applique today. I'm determined to finish and post each 'month's" progress. All my stars have bears heading home. All the houses will have bears standing in the doorway waiting for them.
