OK, I got Month 1 done. I am using scraps and stash and have no idea what I’ll choose month by month. I really struggled with making my own 1/4” bias! Looking at this picture now, my roof looks like some type of origami….not intended, I’ll learn to love itLast edited by Jana B.; 01-11-2023, 07:08 PM.Given a choice, Choose Joy……

I completed month 1 using Karen Buckleys "Perfect Stem" maker. I also wanted to use my new embroidery machine, so I embroidered the house. I made so many houses with the 2021 BOM, I was looking for an alternative. When completing the frame I decided to miter the corners. Not quit sure of my colors yet. . . .I may try a second one with different combinations.

Here is my version of Month 1. I will need to redo 2 of the star points as I ran into the problem of not having a quarter inch seam allowance there.
My fabric choice is an interesting one I went shopping after Christmas and bought mostly solids but also a few batiks. I am excited about my color palette and look forward to work with it as we go along. However all of the fabric you see except the background came from my stash!Last edited by Kati; 01-12-2023, 05:04 PM.

a seam on the scrap and cut it out. fused to the block, and straight stitch small stitches. HelenW
