I went with colored windows/doors because my house fabric didn't have enough contrast with the background. I'll be doing another one with a darker house and use the background for windows/door because I really like the way Sarah's looks

This cabin is so stinking cute! I didn't realize how small it would be. I'm using my own fabrics. I have the pieces cut for the star points, but am waiting a day or 2 to figure out the stems.

Obviously I stretched the striped border, but will live with it!

This looks beautiful! I really like how your bias tape matches the border around the house. And the house looks lovely, your color choices really make the house stand out.

I'm still trying to decide what fabric to use for the star points. Fabric decisions take longer than the actual sewing!

I must confess that I can't throw away even the tiniest piece of fabric. And therefore I have been looking quite a while for an applique quilt to use my tons of white, cream and tan leftovers. And so Homeward Bound was perfekt!
Only because I preferred also an appliqued house in the middle I didn't sew the original one.
