A whole year late, but finally finished! This was a fabulous BOM, and I really enjoyed all the beautiful quilts that were posted by everyone who participated, and the wonderful videos and tips from Barbara. I was keeping up really well through the inner circle, but got a bit kerflauffled picking out colors for my outer circle of large buildings, so I stepped away to work on other projects and give my mind a rest. Well, one year latter, I decided I really needed to get going, so I pinned swatches to my design wall representing the main building color and got sewing. Along the way, I probably changed my fabric choice at least 30% of the time, and plenty of the finished blocks found their way to new locations as they were all sewn together, but I finally finished the outer circle in 2 months. Then it took time to get into the LAQ queue, but it was totally worth the wait! Louise Klare of K7 Quilting did an amazing job, and even quilted several Easter eggs in my houses for me to discover. My binding caused another small delay as I waited for the Kaffe Fassett 85 and Fabulous collection to be released and arrive at my LQS.. I think it was worth all the delays to be able to pick the perfect binding. LOVED this adventure!
the vibrant colors in this quilt just don’t show up in my picture. Probably over 300 different Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics were used in this project. Totally validates the reason for a stash!Beth Bell Lavoie

Finally finished after two years and a couple months! Somehow I forgot to download the pattern for the small houses in the city, so I drafted my own. One is loosely based on my mom's home. I also changed the skyscrapers to buildings significant to my family. I kept Big Ben, adding the Macau Tower, the Shuntak Center in Hong Kong, and the Sail Building in Haifa, Israel. Then I embroidered the building numbers/names of places we lived on buildings near the skyscrapers. It needs some serious blocking, which I will do whenever I can find a space large enough that won't be walked on by dogs or people. Still, I'm very happy with how it turned out. I plan to hang it in my office.Last edited by Lori; 02-27-2023, 01:56 PM.

I’m about two years behind on this project, however, when I first saw this, it was available as a block of the month pattern. That was my first year of quilting, and I finally got around to braving the paper piecing. I love it.
I tried to create my own paper, piecing block only on the tower, and I created the Seattle space needle. To me it looks a bit like a casserole on stilts. I have ever I’m gonna keep it as it was my first try at creating my own paper piecing pattern.Last edited by Pamela F.; 05-08-2023, 06:11 PM.

Paige, The quilt is wonderful, but the animals in all the windows is the best. Great idea but I bet it took a bit of time
to fussy cut that many cute dogs and cats. That one empty window in the upper left could use a cute animal or sea
gull or something. Great job. Thanks for taking the time to post it. HelenW

I finally finished my quilt. It took 2 1/2 years but I really love it. I enjoyed quilting it. I did a lot of detail which is why it took so long. It was worth it. Now it is hanging in a place of honor over our staircase. My wonderful husband found a way to do it. Every time I pass it I can't believe it is finally finished and how good it looks. Thanks for all your help Barbara. I definitely learned a lot of new skills and am much more confident.

So happy to have this finished and hanging on a wall in my new townhome in Vermont! Thank you to Barbara for all your support during the making of this quilt! Thank you to Louise of Burlington Electric Quilters in Massachusetts for this beautiful edge to edge design (and for renting me time on your longarm)!
