My sixteen houses! Although it looks like it, I am not using a kit but intead pulling from my stash a combination of Kaffe shot cottons, Oakshott Cottons (the Oakshotts I'd gotten at some point from TQS but I don't have too many of them), and some silks. In this photo, the silks are the three in the upper left and two on the bottom right. My one other self-imposed rule is to use Kaffe polka dots (not all are Kaffe, but most) for my rooftops (except for the silk ones) as a nod to Alex' love for polka dots. I just LOVE seeing everyone's amazing creativity, and am having a blast making these. A big THANK YOU to Barbara whose videos and instructions are so helpful--SO HELPFUL!!!

Here are my houses - just under the wire..

I was so careful to double check the scale in the office after I printed my patterns. It was spot on. After I got to my sewing room I realized I neglected to print the patterns on the freezer paper. I went right back to the printer and printed them and was off. It wasn't till I finished all 8 of the #1 houses when I moved on to the #2 houses when I doubled checked the scale of the freezer paper pattern that I realized the scale was wrong.. - and...so were the 8 houses I had just finished. UGGG. I am so proud of myself for getting right back at it. There was the day that a mistake like that would have been the end of that project.

I purchased the tuxedo background fabric and drew fabrics from my stash -

I don't know why there are two pictures...

For fraying of the shot cottons, I used Fray Check on the edges after sewing and pulling away the freezer paper. I'm not a fan of shot cottons but at least with it you don't have to worry about right and wrong sides!

I too just finished house 16. Starting on my Mariner's Compass tomorrow. My houses are from grab bags of Cherrywood hand dyed fabrics of Baxter, MN. I decided to use a few non Cherrywood fabrics on the windows to look like curtains (floral mostly). What fun.

                          hope the picture is upright!

                                HI Everyone:

I finished my houses a few days ago, but had not had a chance to post the pictures. Since I had not finished last year's BOM (I'm getting there), I was not planning to do this year's. But when I saw the quilt for this year I had to do it. I just love paper piecing!!! It is so much fun and seems fast. I love the fabric colors that came in the kit. This is going to be a great quilt!!!! I am so glad I decided to try it.
