BKLYNMIKE, Love the way you are coloring your world. It has a very serene peaceful feel to it, not the busy city feel. I got brown fabric for my tree trunks too.
I really like the way they look when you put them so they look like they are coming behind the houses, rather than running up the front of the houses. I like the alternating teal and
green for the tree circles. Are you drafting your pattern in some software, or just using graph paper to figure out the sizes like the half circles for the trees? Yours is one of my
favorite so far. Great job, thanks for sharing. HelenW

BKLNMIKE I love these colors and aren't you clever to move onto the the other houses. I may try that too. Love your brown trunk trees!!

He has drawn his own patterns, using the photo of the quilt to create the additional small houses. If you want the "official" Small Houses 3 and 4, wait for March 1. His look really good.

I opened the drawing they gave us for coloring practice in EQ7, then used that to take measurements and drew it out on paper. When we get there I've redrawn the landmark buildings using paint so they all relate to NYC.

BKLYNMIKE, Thanks for the quick response. I had to take a break to do some other quilting, but I am going for somewhat of a folk art look. Just flying the seat of my pants and using flannel.
Love what you have been doing. Mine will probably do a lot of changing before I get the look I am going for. So you plan to paint on the buildings. Do you plan to do it before
you make them into a unit or after the sections are together. Sure hope you keep posting your progress. It is so fun to see everyones own take on this pattern. I can see how
it would be possible to get it done by July if the patterns were available, but love the fact that all you

needed was the picture, and off you go. HelenW

Helen W--I just love what is happening with your quilt. It is magnificent! Love those silhouettes on top of the mariner's compass. Will keep watching to see how it evolves since you said it may keep changing.

BKLYNMIKE, I too love the coloring you are using and your 'freelance' design approach. Very inspiring. I really look forward to seeing the four landmark buildings you have chosen to represent NYC (as I believe you said in one of your responses). This is just wonderful.
