I hope to do mine with wool applique, which is a new technique to me. I have been really enjoying dyeing wool felt. It is exciting to me to mix the dyes and see what comes out.

My order of Perle Cottons has stalled at a FEDEX in Kansas for about 3 weeks now.
I don't know much about embroidery. I bought a few embroidery books online. I like Sue Spargo's Creative Stitching the best. It is a very good book.
In the meantime, I have been practicing 1 or 2 stitches every day on an old linen table napkin. I finally learned how to do french knots and bullion stitches!

Carole, your houses look fantastic. What embroidery facebook groups can you recommend? Why do they like Valdani?

Hi Judy, My favorite Facebook group for wool applique is called Wool Applique. How original, huh? From there, you will see many other groups and BOMs posted that you can request to join.

I like Valdani as it's just one thread and find it easier to work with than pulling apart separate pieces of floss and then putting back together. For me, it has less likelihood to knot and tangle.

        Best, Carole

Watched all the videos and following the forum. I just finished my first house. My tip is to use my small clover craft iron for pressing. I will also take fabrics from stash. Cut up fabrics for all the houses, now to the sewing part.

The next few blocks went together so much better and faster! So can I say a little addictive?
Which "craft iron" did you use? The little Clover that is just a smaller version of an iron, or the "stick" Clover? Thanks.

Finished 1 and 2. Far from perfect, but they are perky. It was a fun diversion; now have no excuse to put off quilting BOM 2020.

I must say I’m not crazy about the shot cottons . It frays and leaves many threads on wax paper . But I will deal with it .
