New Group created for 2015 BOM
If anyone is planning to do the 2015 BOM, I just created a Group where you can chat, share experiences, post photos, etc. The Group is open, so please go check it out and try posting some photos, creating an album, etc. so I can fix any bugs before January. Your help would be appreciated. If you create an album in the Group, name it with your Username so we know who's is who's.
To get to the Group, put your mouse pointer on "Connect" and click on "TQS Community". On that page, click on "Groups" and then click on "All Groups". A list should appear and you'll see "2015 TQS BOM".
thanks,

Kathy, thanks for sending Bob the request. Does that mean that the group discussion section for the 2015 BOM and the section for the 2015 BOM on the Forum will be linked so that you post in either place and be able to read it in both?Originally posted by "Tribblemom" post=125543Yes, I sent Bob a request. There is also a group for the 2015 BOM. Use either or both.Originally posted by "PosyP" post=125542Kathy, will there be a section here on the forum for the 2015 BoM?

Thanks, Kathy. It just means we will have to monitor 2015 BOM information in both places because you can't control which of the two places people are going to use to post... as you know, some are willing to explore the new feature provided by the Group community section, others feel more comfortable and find easier to navigate the Forum. In the end, not providing a clear structure for the BOM is likely to add to the confusion and frustration some members are currently experiencing and certainly will not provide a one-stop place for the BOM dialogue. Not the end of the world, but not efficient from a strategic perspective either.Originally posted by "Tribblemom" post=125557Renata, the forum and group areas are separate and discussions are not linked. It is up to you - which or both - you want to use to communicate. The advantage of the Group is that there are albums attached to it so that people can post their progress there.
Kathy
As for the advantage of posting pictures in the Group area, that may be so, but the features of the old Show-and-Tell were far superior to what is in the Group area. If you are not familiar with the old Show-and-Tell for the BOM, I'm sure someone on the TQS staff can show it to you. Several people have raised this issue already, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Either that, or maybe it's too difficult to bring it back and no one is telling us.
It will be interesting to monitor both the Forum and the Group to see where the bulk of comments are made regarding BOM 2015. This might give the TQS leadership a better feel for how the membership is responding to this new concept of "Group."
Thanks!

The 2015 BOM Category is now available in the forum!
I don't know what the status is on improving the Show and Tell gallery. I know it is not at all what it should be right now. It's probably a project that will take more time. John advises Bob on priorities for the website and there are other things they are working on, too.

Thanks, Renata for articulating it so well....IMO..the photo quality is superior in the group section...
but indeed it is confusing and awkward to use...so what's to gain if users can't easily use it. I
still am spending a lot of precious time trying to use this site...and have road blocks every day !!
There are too, too, too many places to post, to read and to search..... :S
