Jan I'm ready to sew the borders on my quilt, are there any special instructions in the December pattern that I should know of before I sew them on? Thanks

As I can't post a photo of my finished BOM in the show and tell area I hope you don't mind if I do it here. The first photo is with the borders on - there wasn't a snowballs chance in hell that I was going to do all that applique around the outside.

Before final sashings and border fabrics -

And after all sashings are added. It is now too big to fit on my design wall and the dog and children are all over the floor tonight so I will have to wait for a quiet moment to take an upright picture of the whole thing. Now I just need to bat, baste and quilt it before Christmas. :P

So beautiful, Rita, and how perfect the snowball blocks! The colors in the border pick up all the fabrics in the quilt and it just comes together beautifully! I, too, am so sick of applique' that I'm doing a pieced border on my Christmas quilt. Was thinking about the letter "D" block repeated around, but I might just shamelessly copy your snowball border and get this puppy done for Christmas! hmy: :P

Rita, I am slack-jawed and speechless! Your design sense and color choices are magnificent! Since I haven't been following this year's BOM, I'm seeing it with fresh eyes. This judge gives you perfect "10"!

Although when I saw the picture of your 'e' block, for some reason I read it as 'eek' :woohoo: :side:  Don't ask where my brain was going with that

                              Rita,
You are truly an artist in every sense of the word.
Your quilt is lovely as, is your wonderful singing voice.
The colours are so warm and bright, good luck with the quilting I'm sure it will be finished in time for Christmas.
