Oh, Ritzy, I love your little quilt! I know how hard it is to go half size! But, your's looks wonderful! I see an A for Arleen and a D for Dawn. A gift for ME from YOU?      (Terry is in California working for a few weeks, and I have to entertain myself somehow!)

Great job Andree and Ritzy! I am so swamped that my oversized blocks have been put on hold. Between Easter at my in town house which is in a shambles, the quilt show coming up in a few weeks where I will have a booth selling things, my sister visiting right after the quilt show who hasn't been here since sometime in the 70's, then getting ready for my first retreat group a few days after Mother's Day, I'm not sure where to begin. Today it was an all day process just getting the photos and paperwork for my quilt show entries done. So I guess I will just have to enjoy everyone else's blocks for now.
Ritzy, you could have drawn the Jack's Delight block on 6 per inch graph paper and paper pieced it in sections. That's what I would have done.

I think that the posts are not erased and are accessible even after the last month is passed. (that is what I've seen so far with passed BOM).Originally posted by zippitydodawI love all the half size blocks and you inspire me. Is there a way to print off all the hardwork that Andree has done doing the math I would love to attempt this at a later date.
Judy
Tonight, i will work on Month 5. I'm in the Fabric/Color selection process right now....

LOG CABIN (I begin this month with the "easiest" block
...
PANEL SIZE: 6" x 3-1/2"(finished)
BLOCK SIZE: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" (finished)
Dark Scraps - variety of strips, 3/4" wide and between 1 to 3 inches long
Same for light fabric
center square : 1" x 1"
Background Fabric: 2 strips 1" x 3" AND 1 strip 1" x 4"
1 rectangle 3-1/2" x 4"
Appliqué fabric for the letter "L" at 50%
I decided to use paper-piecing for this block, as the "logs" are only a 1/4" finished. I used "add-an-eight" instead of the "add-a-quarter" ruler - so there would be less in the seam allowance.
After Step 5, the block measures 3":

I kept the paper up to step 6 ( the top and bottom background strips were just like some other logs - the same with the left side background).
After Step 6, the panel measures 6-1/2" x 4".
I placed the "L" at about 3/4" from the bottom edge (it is about the same for the top and right edges

Tomorrow, I will stitch the other blocks and post the measurements.
