Very talented young ladies! Great looking quilts. We had a cat for 22 years and he always wanted to be in the middle of everything, so we nicknamed him "the supervisor". Lenny might be supervising you Terry.

Lenny wants to learn how to sew and help out too.

Tell the girls they should be proud of themselves, they did a great job. I love seeing kids doing these kinds of projects.

Terry those quilts look great, and what a great project. As for the cat - wonderful photo! I will have to show it to my daughter (we think she is a cat! )

Terry, The quilts are great. The little girls did a great job. Nothing like getting them hooked at a very young age! Lenny is a great cat!

Congratulations to the girls on their contribution of a quilt to a great cause! Both quilts are precious and so is Lenny!

This is my first finished project for 2013. Not a quilt but placemats. And groovy placemats at that! The fabric on the top is Ikea upholstery fabric and the binding is one of their plain cottons. The fabric on the back is one of their lightweight cottons. They were fun and cheap to make and a great way to practice FMQ. Far Out Man!

Your placemats look fun--great for spring or summer, or whenever you want to brighten up a rainy or snowy day, eh? You are right, what a great way to practice FMQ! Come to think of it, I need some placemats!

It was sew fun to sew right next to the girls. They each took a turn sewing a strip on and then ironing.
So proud they stayed with it to the end. Towards the end they were requesting a faster sewing machine
but the mom would gently talk them out of it.
There are 10 of us making these quilts. The gal coordinating this project is a former quilt shop owner.
She provided most of the fabric(she has a huge stash ) and put all fabrics into kits, sew all we had to

I'll try post again from the next sew day.

Rita your placemats are very happy. Thanks for sharing.
