I'm very happy with what TQS provides. I like surprises, and I also like to see what folks have to offer that I would have never thought of. That's often quite inspirational.

I agree with Lorchen that TQS does a great job in providing interesting and useful shows and that it's nice to learn from people I would not have thought of, but I would really like to see Caryl Bryer Fallert, Sue McCarty, Hollis Chatelaine, Sharon Schamber, and Nina McVeigh on TQS. It would also be fun to have several of the quilt judges on to talk about competitions. I know that Sharon has annoyed folks with what's happened with her network (including me), but she's a magnificent quilter and an interesting person and I'd just love to see her on the show. It would also be fun to see a bunch of the members from TQS do a whole show together. It might be kind of hard to figure how to do that, but still, could be fun to watch.

LADIES.... I am not saying they do not do a great job.... I was hoping that this would be a fun wish list of someone you admire and would like to see on the show.... Quilters old and new that have not been on ... showing new technique or showing a off their beautiful quilts... I follow many quilters via the big shows, blogs, magazines but I wanted to find out quilters other TQS members enjoy that I might not have heard of.....

SOME quilters I would like to learn more about:

Diane Gudinski ... free motion quilter
        Pat Sloan ... quilter / author/ podcaster
Lintott Ladies .... authors of multiple PRE CUT BOOKS
Suzanne Woods ... author of Modern Blocks
        Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle
Amy Butler ... fabric designer... I would like to learn more about fabric designing by any of the designers.
        LENORE CRAWFORD http://www.lenorecrawford.com
        MATTIE RHOADES (Quiltsmart Company founder)
Yvonne Wells is a Folk Artist

        Linda McGhee...purse lady

        Terry Atkinson ... pattern designer

Penny Morris ... Electric Quilt Company

        Dilys Fronks

I would love to see some of the applique queens on / showing off their beautiful quilts
        Penny Haren... pieced applique patterns...
Has Mimi Dietrich been on... I would have to check but I do not thing so
        Janet Townswich applique is exquisite
Janet Pittman has written several books I enjoy
        Bea Oglesby

As much as I enjoy following their blogs and web sites... I would much rather see them on TQS. I would especially like to see some of the new moderns quilters as I find their patterns, fabric and books refreshing and interesting.

Some of these ladies I have seen their works in the big shows, or admired the books they write. I would like to learn more about them. I know other TQS members admire a quilter that had not been interviewed and I am just wondering who those quilters would be. I am not saying that TQS is not doing a fantastic job...

I don't know many quilters other than the ones I have seen online. I would like to see Leah Day though. She is young, practical and interesting. I loved Tom Russell's work and would love to see some more of him. I would like to see Deborah Kemball as I think her applique work is divine. But I have been very happy with what TQS has to offer and always look forward to the next programme. Rita.

I have not heard of Deborah Kemball but I will be looking her up.

I am very interested in the modern on line quilt movement that is going on.... Here are some of the links I have been following .... I find their work graphically pleasing. My niece joined a modern quilt group with 30s something ladies. She ropes me into coming so I can teach techniques and then what they do with what I have shown them... is MARVELOUS

I would like to see Alex and Ricky do an investigation / report on the movement.... Wouldn't that be a hoot... to see them as old fashion reporters getting a scoop.... flights of fantasy THE ONLINE QUILT MOVEMENT needs to be investigated.

                Anna,

I just took a wonderful set of Adobe Photoshop Elements classes, the second one being designing fabrics using it. It was so much fun if you are interested in designing some of your own fabrics. Thanks to Margo for bringing this to my attention in the first place. Here's the link

They don't have that class going now, but I suspect they are going to run it again soon.

For that matter, it would be cool to catch up with Liz Porter, who reportedly retired and moved to Texas to be near her grandkid, but an interview with her would be nice. I often wonder how things are for her.

I agree that I like the surprise of seeing the different people who come up on the shows. And they are people I sometimes haven't even been aware of (sorry, bad grammar!). There is a local landscape quilter here....Natalie Sewell... I think she would be amazing to see on a show. And she is really nice too. I've taken a class with Diane Guydinski (sp?) and she is a great teacher also. It would definitely be fun to see her on a show. And I also agree with Liz Porter. I, unfortunately, have had enough of Marianne and Mary. Yes, and some fabric designers would be fun to see. I love Amy Butler and Valeri Wells.

I find all of the shows to be very inspirational, even ones that I think "oh this isn't my thing".

I think TQS is doing a fantastic job of inviting guest teachers with a wonderful variety of skills to keep us informed about what's happening and what's new with the quilting industry. I always look forward to learning something new and wonderful every time I check in online with TQS.

It would be fun though to see Judy Niemeyer demonstrate how she chooses the batik colors for her quilts, and to have Laura Murray give us a demo on how to use Paintstiks with her new stencils and rubber stamps. I also realize these are very busy popular teachers who have classes scheduled 1-3 years out so it might be difficult for TQS to include them in its busy schedule as well. It's really Alex and Ricky's call on all of this isn't it? I feel I've already got my money's worth by renewing my membership in Dec. 2011. Thanx TQS.

                              Cheers,
                              Shirley
